Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

It's funny that AI is such a watered down, nothing burger of a marketing term that it implies anything from "this software has an algorithm for one specific thing that calculates in a variety of factors" to "the only way this could be more of a crime is if we ran parts of this calculation on crushed baby corpses"

Anyway it's at a solid 10. I am so tired of seeing it everywhere and have companies pushing it on us like we got them pregnant with it

10!!!!!!!!! (When i say "you" I don't mean anyone specific but I do mean all AI users, so feel offended if you should!)
I fucking hate AI and don't understand how anyone can be ok or good forbid like it. It has so many flaws and issues and costs us so much. Not just in a financial sense but the environmental factors alone. The water, the ecosystems around data centers dying, the community's in the area being forced to relocate because of the same effects, it being a literal dumpster fire as it's not sustainable- and will 'have' to be rebuilt and replaced within years of being built. And anybody who tries to defend the impacts AI slop by bringing up things like food/meat industry is truly just as dumb as ai wants you to be. Because 1ya the meat/farming industry is atrocious, so stop buying into it and stop eating meat. Idk why ur so proud of knowing how bad the farming industry is and happily supporting/buying into it. 2the farming industry while bad, it fufills a NEED, not just a wanted purpose but and actual need. THERE IS NO NEED FOR AI!! All this stupid shit people love it for, whether it's 'helping you' or just a 'tool' that brings a little bit of joy, ITS NOT NECESSARY. There are so many other ways to get not only the same shitty outcome but you can actually get a good outcome if you used your fucking brain— Hell use someone else's brain even! Ai barely serves a purpose but it absolutely does not fulfil a necessity.
The fact that people are becoming forced-reliant on it is actually evil. I do everything I can to not use, engage, or even just thinking about ai shit but it's being put in everything, and that's severely messed up of our society/government/political billionaires if you really wanna get down to it.
Regardless idgaf if u life ai or just use it a little(aka something u say to try and justify it to yourself), the use of ai is like(ENTIRELY IS) k taking the lives of a dozen just so you can have a shitty picture of ur dog in human clothes. It's actually so ridiculous. And you act like it's not just because you can see the active slaughter. But a explosion/bomb victim doesn't become any less dead just because the detonator is miles away.

STOP FUCKING USING FUCKING AI AT ALL COSTS!!!

i dont think it has to do much with the technology itself. it's mostly the big ones, esp with huge data centers, that are problematic. generative ai is already used in certain areas of research. procedural terrain generation via diffusion algorithms is one example i can think of. it's not a magical, black box technology. it's still often leveraged to do harm though. there are valid concerns about replacement of jobs, though i would say thats a weakness with capitalism
thats a fair point
