The R2D De-breather in Peacefull Pill Handbook (August e-edition) looks very interesting. (From page 76 to 83).
Does not require anything illegal being shipped through customs(nembutal), no drug scammers and the seller is as far as I know genuine and reliable. Does not require a pressurised cylinder (as with the 'exit bag). It's simple and straightforward. What it is is a closed system with two canisters / containing CO2 scrubber. This absorbs CO2 and therefore prevents the onset of panic and distress that would otherwise be caused by the build up of CO2. You re-breathe your exhaled air and steadily the oxygen level goes down, first causing unconsciousness and then death. The original version was produced in 1998 but a newer more improved version has been produced which has a mask with a better more reliable seal (the mask seal inflates ). You can use the R2D De-breather lying down, unlike the 'exit bag'.
Costs $190 (ex. shipping) I have the contact details but I'm not sure I'm allowed to put them on here. They are on page 82 of the PPH (August e-edition). The 'Sarco pod' (page 68 or the PPH) looks interesting (looks a bit like the pod used to surgically remove the alien in the movie Prometheus!) but also looks very expensive. The Sarco pod allows 4 litres of liquid nitrogen to turn into nitrogen gas and fills the pod with it. Presumably it also eliminates CO2. R2D Debreather Sarco pod

It's a nice concept, but if anything goes wrong (and something can go wrong easily with such systems) you may end up with permanent brain damage.

I suppose perm brain damage is possible but it is favourably reviewed in the PPH and i don't see why it shouldn't work. It is also the second much improved version of it that was reviewed. The email address of the inventor is in the PPH and also the website to order it from.

This is from page 81 of the PPH (August e-edition)….

The 2020 model of the R2D DeBreather has been tested in the US by a Final Exit Network research team and by Exit International in the Netherlands. testing involve monitoring the level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the system. The unit was checked for ease of positioning of the chin strap, the effective sealing of the face-mask, and the overall comfort of the R2D.

US tests had three volunteers breathing down the oxygen to the pre-determined point of 14% which is equivalent to an altitude of 3000 meters. As one FEN researcher, Neal Nicol said, 'the mask was comfortable and it took only a few minutes to get the O2 level down, dropping at a rate of - 2% /min.There was no significant rise in CO2 level and no leakage detected, even with a beard'. Time to loss of consciousness was predicted to take 10 mins.

In the Netherlands, an air pump circulated 12 litres of air through the closed system @2 litres/minute. A burning candle was used in the experiment - a candle consumes oxygen at approximately the same rate as an adult (250 ml/min). Level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the system were monitored. Again, no detectable rise in CO2 was detected and the oxygen level dropped steadily until the flame was extinguished.

In all trials, when the facemask was fitted and the DeBreather attached it was found to be comfortable and breathing was easy. With the R2D Facemask it is possible to recline comfortably (unlike with the Exit Bag)

This means the DeBreather could be used outside, at the beach, in the forest etc. One could lie back and gaze at the stars. Drifting to one's death.

Improvements in the 202 model ;
more resistant to possible leaks, has a better one-way valve, and most important, it seals the canisters of soda lime in separate barrier bags which permits immediate access to the rest of the components. This allows practice using the mask and chin strap to learn how to ensure an airtight seal between the mask and your face

The original (1998) De-Breather was about 80% efficient (80% successful deaths) so the (2020) improved version that ships now should be even better.
I'm not sure anyone has used one successfully, if anyone has heard differently it would be good to hear about.

I think (?) discussion around the original de-breather led to the development of the Exit-Bag method. Theoretically it would be effective but there is no practical evidence that it works, similar to the 'Korean Collar' which, if it did, would remove a lot a barriers to CTB.
yes but the debreather has been modified and improved. Th early issues were with the mask seal. There are too many Nembutal scammers out there and then there is the problem with customs seizures.

According to this post the revised version isn't too impressive: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/thre...o-die-of-r2d-rebreather-ii.66098/post-1239146

Well the Swiss clinics charge 7,000 to 10,000 Swiss francs and you have to supply a lot of paperwork (and have someone with you to identify you after you've died) so at $190 plus shipping cost I think the R2D Debreather is worth a try.
In it's first version it was largely successful ( 9out of 10 people using it died) but that wa the 1998 version. So the 2020 update should be even better. I think it probably needs dsome practice first with the system open (not airtight) first to get used to the mask, the head straps etc. The main issue was the mask. It maybe still a problem to some to a lesser extent. In tests where sensors were attached and the oxygen level and CO2 level were monitored it worked (O2 went down very significantly and CO2 did not rise)

I quite like the idea of this method but worried about the reliability of it. Sound good though that I could just take it to a remote forest or somewhere and pass peacefully.
