Being not in the US with no real access to firearms and no chance in hell of acquiring SN (which I never knew about before this forum) I hate to say that when my incurable ailment (severe Tinnitus) gets too much to bare then I'm going to have to jump.

I know the down sides to this method, the thought of doing it is terrifying. But if my brain starts screaming at me in a very literal sense due to my disability much worse than it already is, desperation may take over.

Without giving location away we do have a suicide bridge but predictably there's barriers installed. People still find ways to jump off if though.

Would getting drunk before making the leap help?

i probably can't ever bring myself to jump without being intoxicated. i reckon alcohol, benzos or any other drug that sedate you will help substantially with overcoming fear and SI. i'm so sorry that life led you to this situation

I'd take a flask of whatever alcoholic drinkyou know will make you lightheaded with you and slug that back when you get there. Maybe have something to eat an hour or so previously just to avoid vomiting the drink up.
The Erskine Bridge in Scotland where I attempted and was stopped by an off duty cop has similarly got barriers throughout its length now.

Hey OP, don't have much to suggest, anything that helps lower your survival instinct is good and alcohol may do that.

I suffer the same maddening ailment as you and is my reason I know I'll end my life. My inbox is open if you ever want to talk about what a shitty situation it is.

As far as I know, alcohol relaxes the muscles. Roughly speaking, your body becomes softer, which can soften the fall. But if the height is large, I don't think it will be critical. I don't scare, I just warn, because also studied this topic.

Jumping sounds like such a terrifying method to me as well and I certainly think that those who managed to succeed were just so desperate and determined, I envy and admire their courage. But I just think it's so horrible how people are denied access to more peaceful method options, it's such a hellish world where people cannot just pass away in peace. It sounds so incredibly torturous what you have to endure, so I hope that you eventually find freedom from your suffering when the time is right.

That is truly terrible, I am so sorry. And I am also sorry that we just aren't offered any better methods :/ people should be allowed to go at a time of their choosing, peacefully and dignified..

Nononononono please don't attemp drunk. You may slip and fall really bad, and the last thing you want is permanent injury.

There is a bridge like 12 minutes from my flat ( by train) I thought about that because I was looking at videos online on this YouTuber who completed ctb using this method…. Tbh I tried completing ctb back in 2018 and I wish knew about this site back then I would have planned more carefully on how to complete ctb without a fail and now five years I'm still in this misery… I also found out that back then SN was easily accessible but I'm going to make sure that I complete my ctb successfully, no matter how it takes…. The good thing is there is so many ways to complete ctb even though some methods might be more painful than the others, but that's the only way to eternal peace and I'm willing to do anything to reach my eternal peace..

My only other option is to save up for a Voluntary Assisted Death but that is going to take me literal years, it's so expensive and I don't think anyone would be supportive enough to assist me in getting to Switzerland even if I did have the money.

Jumping off a bridge or a cliff would be more terrifying and lonely but seems far more accessible and feasible.

I watched some videos of suicide by falling and now I'm having second thoughts. But I know I'll never be able to hang myself without chickening out, and I can't tie knots for shit. The hell am I supposed to do? I can't imagine how desperate/maddened by this raging ringing in my head I'd have to be to go through with a jump

High pitched whistle, I can hear it over everything. The anxiety and depression it's giving me are dehabilitating, if Sertraline can't get me to cope with it then I well and truly have no hope.

The great irony being that I got severe tinnitus from chemotherapy, i.e something meant to save your life. It just ended up ruining it instead.

I don't know how to PM either. Dare I ask which suspension bridge? Total long shot but having someone to go with might make it easier if it's the same one as me.

I just Google'd it. I know saying which one I had my eye on is risky but I'm going to end up being pretty desperate, and if that is the Bristol one then that's the exact one I had my eye on.
