Hi SaSu! This may be a bit long, but I just wanted to get my feelings out. Basically, I have a really bad overthinking issue. I mean, REALLY bad. I spent every day thinking about what I should talk about for my first thread, whether or not I would get judged, or if I should just lurk around the community as I always have (even before I made an account). I always knew that this was one of, if not the most welcoming and understanding communities I've ever seen, but I have a deathly fear of being judged and it's been a prevalent problem for the longest time.

One of the reasons I hesitated making a thread was that I would be looked at as immature. Looking back at my life, there should not be a single reason why I feel like this. Put bluntly, my situation is significantly better than most. I have friends, a family, a nice home, the privilege to go to school— I should be happy. But there's just this unexplained feeling of sadness. To be honest, maybe it's from impulse. Most of my negative thoughts come from bad situations, ranging from things like failing exams to not meeting expectations. These situations are barely anything compared to the hardships other people on this site go through, and I feel ashamed that I even have the audacity to make an account on here and think that I deserve to vent out these feelings of impulse.

Ever since I found out about suicide at a young age, I've always been fascinated with it. Initially, I was under the influence that it was a bad thing— that it was something someone would do when they were in a bad situation. Well, maybe I wasn't entirely wrong… However, over time, it grew on me as an act of courage. The act of stepping off a tall edge, the act of letting a rope strangle oneself, the act of pulling the trigger of a gun with its muzzle on the roof of one's mouth, it took incomprehensible courage and strength— something that I would never achieve or deserve.

Not a single day goes by where the thought of it doesn't cross my mind. I've imagined countless scenarios about my death by now, and the discovery of more methods like SN or Night Night have only served to feed my fantasies. Imagining slowly losing consciousness as I listen to my favourite songs after swallowing a few pills and drinks / having two beanbags compress my carotid arteries has always brought me comfort in literally any situation. It's as if I'm finally escaping this cycle of disappointing the people around me, or maybe it was the last time I would ever have to disappoint anyone.

I used to have so much potential. I was smart without even trying. I was hardworking. I was creative. I was put in a straight path to success and yet I decided to instead go in the opposite direction. Now, I just go to school, go home, doomscroll, eat, and sleep. The exact same cycle every single day. Ever since I first got a phone, my life has only started to go downhill. I have the most important series of exams of my life in less than 2 months, and here I am typing out this pointless passage instead of studying like what everyone else is doing.

I'll just conclude this here, although I don't really feel like I've gotten any of my feelings out even though that was the whole point of this, lol. This is just a mess of words that took more than an hour for me to type out. If you are somehow still reading this, thank you. Genuinely. I don't think I'll ever find a community or group like this ever again, so I'll try my best to appreciate it to the max before I inevitably become a corporate drone or somehow get the courage to ctb.

I resonate with your feelings for hesitating to post even if the reasons may differ. I feel stupid and embarrassed being perceived in any way at all, having old thoughts, ideas, or opinions out there where other people can see and judge me based on then rather than now, but even just having thoughts and opinions out there at all. It was a couple years ago when I finally became a person and became my own person. I don't know what or who I was until then. I never felt like I was allowed to have an opinion or disagree with others. The things having a narcissistic parent will do to you...

I really relate on the "mess of words that took more than an hour to type out" as a certified yapper myself. I love writing. Writing stories, songs, talking about interests, talking in general. I often struggle with the urge to delete an entire hour's worth of typing and editing because it feels embarrassing and like I will be judged, especially if I could just condense it down to 2 or 3 sentences even if it loses 90% of the meaning and intent. Keep getting told nobody wants to read that much. Or I used to when I was still talking to people. The only talking I do anymore is now on here. This place is becoming really important to me.

It's a really great thing to be able to see, read, and respond to different people with often very similar issues or feelings, especially specific ones, especially without being stigmatized or ostracized. I don't like being perceived, but at least I feel safer and more comfortable doing it here.

Just wanted to say that there is no such thing as 'deserving to make a post here'. It's not like everyone came here to compare with each other to see who had it the worst. Your post reminds me of all the people who told me that 'you have everything people could ever wish for, so why dont you appreciate it?' but not everyone wants the same things. (also, I have 3 tests next week and should be currently studying too 😬😶‍🌫️)

Hi I relate to everything u said. I also have a deathly fear of judgment it's probably Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. Anyway your feelings are completely valid and your life doesn't need to be outwardly bad for you to feel the way you do. Thanks for sharing

It's so amazing that you found your own identity! I hope I'll also be able to reach that stage sometime in the future... Tbh, I've only stolen personalities based on the people I'm around, whether it be the way I act, or the way I talk. I don't think I ever truly was myself. I also agree with your point on narcissistic parents, as I would be scolded or beat if I talked back, disagreed, or even raised my voice to my parents in the past. Fortunately, my mother stopped doing that after we had our first argument a while ago, and she's become much more understanding and better as a parent overall to me and my sister. However, my father on the other hand... I really do despise him. I'm too tired atm to talk about him and what he's done to me and my mental health, but he's probably one of the main reasons I want to ctb.

Actually, I'm not much of a yapper myself... The only experiences I have in writing are when I'm doing an English exam— and well, this site. I feel like I finally have a place to talk here after reading all the supportive comments, so I really appreciate everyone on here ♥️ One of my fantasies is being able to just yap about how I feel and have a genuine heart-to-heart with someone, maybe at the beach or when exploring abandoned places (something I've been wanting to do for a while now), although everything I would wanna say either would get stuck in my throat or somehow magically get forgotten on the spot, as if trying to embarrass me. It sucks to suck at talking.

Funny, that's what I'm trying to do now. I tried to make my experiences specific to see if there was really anyone else that felt the same, and I was so paranoid and kept overthinking when typing my original message out. I was genuinely sweating as I posted this thread 😭 And yes, I feel much more comfortable talking about my feelings on here than literally anywhere else, and I hope I get to do so for as long as I can.

That's true, my apologies. My overthinking gets to the best of me, even though I know that saying things like this probably make me seem too self-deprecating / attention seeking. Also, I absolutely HATE being looked at as a person that's attention seeking. It just fills me with this unexplainable sense of embarrassment and anger. Maybe it relates to my problem of fearing judgement.

Tbh, the only person who's told me 'you have everything people could ever wish for, so why don't you appreciate it?' is myself. As I said, I feel like I should be happy in my current situation. I don't fully appreciate my living conditions and the people around me enough. I really hope you've found people that don't think or talk to you like that. ♥️

Best of luck for your tests!! I'd give you advice on studying, but I never follow advice like that myself, so all I can do is wish you luck. 😅

I tried finding other people who relate, so huge thank yous for letting me know I've achieved my goal. 😅

After reading a bit on Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria, I would say that I have similar symptoms, although I don't like self-diagnosing. I've been too afraid to ask my parents to get me diagnosed with anything, and I also don't think I have anything wrong with myself either. Thanks for sharing about this, though. It's very interesting!

Thanks for the kind words!!!

I'm glad you decided to post this thread. Everyone comes here so for many different reasons, and I think everyone's desire to die is valid regardless of the reasons behind it. I too was raised by abusive parents growing up, and despite my father being a better person than he used to be, it's been very difficult to forgive him for the shit he's done and I do mean I have had to forgive him for A LOT. My mother is already dead from leukemia so she isn't even around anymore.

The only thing I can't forgive is him and my mother's decision to bring me into this world where they knew I would inevitably suffer and die, and they did it for self serving reasons. They never should've had children at all, and if they had chosen not to do so, I would've been better off not existing.

Welcome to Sasu anyway! I hope you enjoy being a part of the community. All the suffering of other people on here weighs on me just as much as my own does, and the same is probably true for you I imagine.

I think being a bit of a chameleon is a social survival strategy, especially for neuro-divergent people. I definitely did a bit of when I was younger. I'm so sorry you had awful parents too, and I'm very glad your mother has had such a change of character. My father is truly awful as well.

You really are expressing the same things I feel. Especially the sweating thing. I can be in a cold room, barely moving around, and sweat if I'm incredibly anxious. I fucking hate it so fucking much. I hope talking on here makes you feel some inner peace.

Actually, I'm not much of a yapper myself... The only experiences I have in writing are when I'm doing an English exam— and well, this site. That sounds really fucking cool. Those places are awesome choices. I used to go to the beach when I was younger with my family, I went once as an adult, but it was a bit of a drive and didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hope all alone especially with anxiety. (That was a few years ago, and it was bad then, I only assume the costs for parking and getting on the beach have only gotten more and more expensive :'() I did take a few pictures that are some of the best pictures I've ever taken though, so I can never forget that day. I also brought back a cup of sand I used for some art projects I cherish. I watch exploration videos sometimes, never really done it myself, but it could be incredibly cool depending on the place.

I'm good at writing, but I'm socially inept and horrible at talking too. I constantly kick myself and feel so fucking stupid and embarrassed.

No need to apologize, it also did not come across as attention seeking at all, more like a small side note. I just noticed as I tend to talk like that about myself as well. Its great to try and appreciate what you have, I also too often catch myself taking things for granted that I shouldnt 👍

And thanks for wishing me luck, Ill need it 🫠

Welcome! I feel for you because I am privileged and "shouldn't be so depressed" based on my upbringing and socioeconomic status. Depression doesn't discriminate. I recall my first suicidal thoughts were when I was around 8 years old. At thanksgiving I asked my aunt for a knife so I could stab myself in the heart. Since then I've always toyed with suicide and not wanting to be here.

This is called depression. Fortunately this could.be fixed. Please seek help. You haven't done anything that could be considered a funk up. Get help and get back on track.

What i have done is irreversible. I can't undo my actions. And now I live lost in guilt and shame. And I can't live with it much longer...
