Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you're looking for people who will openly encourage you to take your own life, I suspect regular social media is a good place to start! I've witnessed a great deal more hate there than here.
Also, I'd argue this site is primarily pro-choice rather than pro-suicide. We don't try to dissuade suicide if a person's decision appears well considered and definite. However, there are plenty of examples of people on the fence being nudged more in the direction of recovery. But, I don't know of other sites personally. I think there was 'Lost all hope' which used to describe methods if I remember rightly.
Which newspaper articles are you refering to? As a guess though, it may well be SN they are refering to.

I vote for social media. My mental health took a huge dive just looking at twatter for 10 minutes.
As for resources, here is a thread to get you started:

Most members who have been active in this forum for a while know that the media has blatantly misrepresented the purpose and philosophy of this forum for years. For example, let's take a look at these articles here...
There was a site I visited years ago that was taken down... alt suicide(something like that). It was an ok site, except there was no recovery section, and you had freaks who only visited the site to encourage you to ctb, and wanted you to livestream it as you were doing it. It was not a very well moderated site. It was pretty much a free for all there.

Pretty sure OP meant sites that are pro-cboice in terms of suicide and allow discussion of methods. Both of which none of the social media websites mentioned allow. It's because social media doesn't allow this that this site came into existence.
lostallhope.com Is the only other site I'm aware of that fits this.
