I'm in therapy but it's not really helpful. I am aware of what I need to do to "get better", but I am unwilling to do it, ultimately. Talking to someone is often more damaging than it is helpful. This lack of willingness is another reason why I am a scourge and would probably be better of dead.

I also hate when they over-validate my feelings. Like, if I describe my situation and they say my feelings about the situation are valid, I have a right to be upset about it and find it horrible. It's like, okay cool I'm right then. I don't feel any better.

Whether my feelings are "valid" or not, I really don't care. No irrational feelings are necessarily "valid". They are chemical processes we can assign interpretation to. I will feel them regardless.

i'm in therapy at the moment — currently on prozac but averse to taking medications due to my parents' neglect. big problem im having right now in therapy is masking, anytime i have DARED to bring up SI or anything that can't be responded to with "you just need to think positively" i watch my therapist get this wide, shocked look in her eyes and immediately try to redirect the convo to something more palatable

i kind of want to ghost her if im being completely honest, i like her and i think she cares about me and i think she's trying to do a good job all things considered, but now i just wanna run away lolol

Yes, but it was completely useless. To be fair I was forced to go, so I didn't even try to make it work.

as of right now, just therapy to talk about my grief, but haven't talked about my suicidal ideations, i don't think i'll ever bring them. i stopped taking my medication because my sleep schedule has gone to shit and i'm not motivated to take them anyways, i've given up.

Tried therapy multiple times. Never worked. Tried anti-depressants, they worked great for like the first week, but then I felt 0 emotion at all. Body is also allergic to 2 of the most common ingredients in meds so my pool of meds is pretty limited.

I am treated by a public mental health center, I was followed by a psychiatrist and a psychologist, currently only a psychologist, I have had a couple of hospitalizations in a psychiatric hospital For short periods in 2022, apart from initial periods in which I tried some therapies (max. 2/3 months) I am now "unmedicated" for years, I couldn't get along well with it (I wanted to be prescribed at least one therapy as needed, not continuous, but still nothing done), Even though there have been some changes, ultimately things aren't "better" in the long run, there are just different details...the pain is still there..

I tried therapy (multiple professionals, actually), and it has never helped, at least for me. I'd be gaslit, have my feelings invalidated, and would be encouraged to make really dumb choices by them.

Medication is a better story for me, but I'm assumed to have bipolar disorder, and so most medications send me into a constant state of mania, which I always think is them working, but it actually isn't, and I end up hurting people and myself.

Just not worth it. I'm suicidal, but at very least I'm stable and able to bottle it on my own. I plan to keep going this way.

I'm 31, and I've been in therapy since age 4. I've only had one therapist, a psychologist, who actually helped me. And I had to stop seeing him because of insurance issues. Finding someone who I can both connect with and who can handle my trauma seems to be a nearly impossible task. Psych meds don't do anything for me either, the closest thing has been a couple of meds that stopped working after a week.

Few years ago I took therapy sessions ranging from the cheapest to the more expensive ones, even online, they all encouraged me to write daily journals which didn't work.

Later I went to a psychiatrist to get some alprazolam and escitalopram, as well as routine checkup, and as of now I currently take fluoxetines.

But what's the point of them all (therapy & medicine) if I still really lonely, don't have anyone to talk to irl, it exhausted me quite much.

Tons of therapy, tons of medication. The only good thing is that after all these years, nobody can blame me that I didn't try.
i hear this.. something i found out 2 years ago about my genetics. i have some kind of metabolic enzyme deficiency that caused my multiple OD attempts as a teen to be failures.

Yeah same situation here. Tried for years to be on meds and did loads of therapy and the rest. I'm supposed to be on 20 mg of Lexapro. Then they priced me out of my meds. Then I got Medicaid. And then and then and then.. it's just like what's the point now? Lost my job with the bank right after my insurance kicked in. And then and then and then.. and they all are like.. how did she slip through the craaacks? It's laughable.. hospitalization doesn't work because that's traumatizing when you're around people with legit crap like schizophrenia and shit.. which I feel for them but them in their phases off their meds is some messed up crazy. Or you're around a manic bipolar losing it and by the time they get to my depressed a$$ they just don't care because I'm not pressing enough. Even while actively suicidal. Because I'm not running around screaming im Queen of the world climbing a wall. Sorry if you have any of these. I have MDD and sometimes people with mental health disorders where you have breaks with reality altogether can be jarring for somebody like myself. No judgement. I guess they figure if they got me in a hospital there isn't anything i can do to myself so why bother with anything else. They just wait me out to see meds be effective and sometimes not even that and turn me loose.. more recently though they wanted me to be in a 3 or 4 hour program 3 times a week outpatient.. but how can anybody work and do that? How can you even find a job and do that? Sorry for the rant.. that's for people with money or benefits from every government program like ever.. which is for sure not me. I have to work. But they can't say after ten years in and out of psych wards and therapy and meds I didn't try.. they half a$$ me at best and wonder I how slip through.. and now I'm older with major physical health problems which don't help either.. I feel you though.. try and try to no results.. just feels like you're going in circles.. the American health system is deeply flawed and broken. But once Trump came into office, just pointing out an observation not being political, I was priced out of my meds.. so go figure..
i mean yeah i sin but i dont believe in that shit that's not what i meant lmao, i dont feel bad about "sinning"
Sinning is the only thing that kept me alive this long.. Hehehe.. it's the best, lol..

As always everything in my life turns into some competition.. about who has worse and the rest.. so whatever.. I give up.. don't know why I bothered here at all.. I'll just be miserable and suffer alone like normal.. no point in opening up about anything anymore.. this is not a competition for who is enduring the most pain with depression.. I mean by the time you're here.. what the hell does it matter for anyways.. if you're hung up on all that then maybe you're not as ready as you think you are.. as always.. even my feelings here get invalidated.. I'm done trying to fit any where.. there is no point in trying anymore.. see if anybody gets anything out of me ever again..

I'm in therapy - again! It's a free service and ivee waited a long time to be there. Honestly ivee had a couple od sessions and tbh, it just feels like another thing I suck at. Another thing to fail at. I dont know why I had hope coz Ive had lots of therapy before and im still totally messed up. But i did have hope and now its started its like ive run into a brick wall with the reality of it. Its not going to help and its hit me pretty hard tbh. Feeling pretty hopeless about it all tbh

I wish I had therapy like 9 years ago. But I didn't. And I still don't. And I don't think there's any fixing me now, I'm far too permanently damaged. The only hope I have left is the rope

Currently I'm only on medication, Sertraline, which my psychiatrist increased before it fully kicked in. I think it was like the 2nd or 3rd week. It takes 6 weeks to kick in fully. I wasn't stressed or more depressed or nothing I just couldn't decide whether to do my exams that year or not. I was supposed to get Trauma therapy and all, but the moment I turned 18 I got kicked out from MH services (CAMHS in the UK) and wasn't given further treatment. No one even checks on me if I still need my meds. I was considering OD on them but I do know that's not the best idea.

The mediation was prescribed to me a day before my discharge in a mental hospital. Now I've been on them for over a year and I can tell they're losing effectiveness but I hate taking those pills so I'm not going to get an increase, but I also won't get off them because it's the only help I get right now.

Currently I am not seeking any treatment and probably never will in the future. Medication has never helped me when I used to take it. It only made things worse for me. I have never tried therapy before, but I don't think therapy will help me either. The only way treatment may work for me is if I somehow escape my awful situation, but even then the chances of anything helping me is very slim considering how extensive the abuse I went through is. The abuse is still happening every single day as well.

I'm not in therapy, nor do I take meds for various reasons. First being that it's incredibly hard to even get them. I live in a place with health insurance, but waiting lists are endlessly long and then you have to take whatever you get and can't choose your person.
With my history I'd need someone who is specialised in C-PTSD and also autism. Because I know enough people who needed either or both and normal therapy just doesn't work or can even be damaging.
Especially if someone tries to use CBT to gaslight you into believing your autism related struggles never happened. Yeah, no thank you.

Medication... I've seen what those can do to people. In a bad sense. They f* you up real good and make you so addicted that getting away can either be extremely painful or even deadly. And the side effects often stay years after you stopped taking them. I researched that whole topic way too much and it just doesn't seem like a good option to me to f* up my body on top of my already broken mind.
