saw a very bizarre method on here about mixing baking soda and citric acid within a bag, and then fastening the bag closed around the neck... with tape I presume? the chemical reaction starts, and the CO2 builds up quickly within the enclosed space causing one to pass out. Seems like a very janky method in all honesty and I would imagine the fumes wouldn't be pleasant.
I mean...in theory it can work. Afaik, baking soda and citric acid are both widely available. Both are generally in powdered form, so you won't have to worry about messy leaks as much. To be honest, normal duct tape doesn't seem like a good way to secure it, but I may be wrong since I've never done this method, nor do I plan to. If it were me, I would use a strong rope or super-sticky tape like gorilla tape. My only concern about this is that the built-up CO2 will cause the same panic response you'll have if you did it without the soda and acid. It will just be quicker. If you have a lot of willpower though, it may work. Overall, it isn't too different from just doing a plastic bag. It's just messier, more expensive, and needs more prep work overall.
