Hi everyone. New user, but I lurked here for a little while before making an account. I'm poor so I don't have access to a lot of things but I did think about the plastic bag method.

What would be the best way to keep it as sealed as possible?

What specific kind of plastic bag would be best? (Shopping bag, trash bag, etc)

I'd like to use this method because it's easy access.

hey mate! welcome to the forum. deeply sorry about whatever drove you here, I'm sure you don't deserve it. you'll find the nicest band of misfits here. anyway, to the point- I'll admit I don't know much about the bag method, but if you look under suicide discussion- sticky threads- suicide resources or methods or something like that (it's a post by SS at the bottom of the sticky list) you'll be able to research it there. however, if you have questions about firearms, shallow water blackout, or hanging I can answer those! those are my preferred methods. wishing you love and peace, mate <3

I'm not going to tell you the "best way" to use a plastic bag but I am going to say I hated the feeling of wearing one. I started feeling aroused and a whole mess of other gross feelings. It's also easy to go wrong because I think you can thrash while you're unconscious, tear the bag, and end up with brain damage in addition to whatever's pushing you towards this. I'm poor too and I'd sooner use gravity.

I couldn't find much regarding plastic bag methods when I used the search feature so I must have missed it. Sorry! I'll check it again, but I would like to keep the thread up in case anyone else's question could be answered here.

I have heard of this, and I am sorry you felt that way. The reason I chose his method is ease of access to plastic bags and the variations that I can get.

My idea is that I put plastic bag in a plastic bag, kind of like layering them, then using the plastic bag handles to create a tie around my head.

how about SWB (Shallow Water Blackout)? it's the method I've been looking at. theoretically, all you need is a glass of water. I believe the thread is called exit bag method for what you're thinking of, but I'd research some other methods too! you never know if you'll find one you end up liking. good luck mate <3

Oh of course! How silly. The exit bag method was talking about having access to gases which I don't have access to so I wasn't sure if it still applied. All I have is plastic bags and I'm confident in my decision to ctb with them. The problem is that I want to make sure I can get the seal right (or at least tie it correctly using the handles so no air gets in).

sorry, like I said I haven't researched that method much. didn't mean to lead you in the wrong direction. sounds like you'll just be using carbon dioxide to ctb, which is quite unpleasant. like holding your breath but not being able to make yourself breathe. SI will kick in strong, but far be it from me to stop you. you could try using zipties at the point where your neck meets your head? I don't think it exactly has to be an airtight seal, just enough to keep the carbon in. just make sure not to keep anything sharp close to cut the zipties with if you're committed.

Should I feed the zip ties through the plastic bag handles and tie it that way? I don't want the zip ties to dig into my neck. I just want the bag to do me in, so I'd like to avoid spending money to buy them. Also I want to make sure if there's a different in the type of plastic bag i use. Is there a difference significant enough to matter?

sorry, a different what? also- you could try putting some kind of padding around your neck, even though I know you said you don't want to buy anything. you could pillage some from an old backpack strap if you have one.
scotch tape might also work and not dig in

Sorry, I was asking if there was a difference in plastic bags in terms of quality. Like do plastic bags from one store are more durable or air tight or made of different materials that make the process easier? As for passing, I could put my hoodie on. Sorry if I'm not clear enough I just want to make his work. I can get more plastic bags for free because some stores can give you them for free.

I don't think it matters terribly much, as long as it's one of the really light flexible kind, if you know what I mean. floppy, almost. a bag that's too rigid will be hard to keep down and let too much air out. I think ShopRite still has that kind if you're in the US. anyway, my friend, it's getting close to midnight where I live, and I want to see if I can get any sleep tonight. I wish you luck if you attempt tonight and if not I'll see you in the morning, love and peace mate<3

Hello everyone. Just bumping the thread instead of making a new one. My questions remain the same.

Is there a difference in plastic bags (grocery, trash bags, different stores, etc)?

Which bags would yield better results?

How should I tie the plastic bags for maximum effectiveness?
