If you happen to commit suicide but they save you, in the hospital and in psych, can you use your cell phone? question that has nothing to do with it: would resetting the phone before ctb erase everything I wrote and searched on the internet?

They let us have access to our phones for around 15 minute to half hour intervals at the psych ward I went to.

How long did you stay there? What did you have to do? Being alone in a room without doing anything shouldn't be legal. It's not normal.

I stayed there for about 2 months. It was excruciatingly boring and aside from having 2 or 3 times per day for designated phone use there was literally nothing else to do but eat. I ended up gaining like 30 pounds there because if I didn't go to meals I'd just be wasting away in bed all day staring at a blank wall.

I wasn't allowed to use my phone when I was in hospital for 2 weeks because of my failed attempt. They were planning to send me to a psych ward and told I wouldn't be able to use it either.
Fortunately, after hospital, they sent me to my parents' house so, I was only without my phone for two weeks!

on what basis is the time established? i can't stand a day in my house, i can't imagine a day in a closed room on a bed without a phone :) do you even have the chance to talk to someone?

They granted us access with a 15 minute time limit (which was short as hell), but the phone "groups" happened multiple times per day. The hours in between each "group" were painstakingly dull though because they didn't make much of any effort to keep us entertained in other ways.

I jumped out a window and my attempt failed so an ambulance had to come for me since I sustained a potentially life-threatening injury lol. I'm sure any attempt on your part would be a lot more foolproof than mine (I did it spur-of-the-moment without any forethought or planning.)

I took 60 pills before partial hanging but they made me pass out and couldn't do it.
My father found me next day, unconscious on the floor. I ended up in a comma for 2 days and all my family found out about my ctb attempt.
Then, I was a prisoner in my parents house for 5 months and now I'm finally free in my apartment. Love it.

I know you are planning to use SN to CTB. If you survive they will ask how you got poisoned, if you don't tell them your real intention they will never know what your real intentions were.

However if you use other methods to ctb, methods that are more obvious like hanging they will they will certainly know you tried tried to kill yourself.
The first thing they will do is a psychiatrist evaluation, if they think you should go to a psych ward, they will tell you. If you refuse to go they can consider a Compulsory Health Treatment ( TSO in Italian).

During the treatment contact with the outside world will be severely limited. Asking your question, they can't go over your phone, it would be illegal.

Well I don't think you would be so stupid to leave your glass near you if you don't want anyone to find out the cause of your death
actually I can't predict it: I'd make three glasses in case of vomiting and could die on the first one. and then where do I hide an empty glass?

Your cause of death I'm sure will be found out whether or not you leave the glass near you.

Yes, obviously that's a fact.

Maybe I worded it wrong, but what I meant to say is that if get saved, they will find you with high levels of methemoglobin and there's no sure way to establish for them you deliberately poisoned yourself. ( OP was asking about the consequences of a failed suicide attempt and if that would have meant a trip to the psych ward).

Ok, honestly I wasn't fully sure what you meant when I replied lol.

I feel like they could still find out though... I've been worrying about that too.

It really depends on the country, area, and sometimes even individual hospital. I've seen that north american hospitals generally tend to not allow phones, and european hospitals seem to be by comparison more lenient. Not sure about other countries/continents though.
I think it might be safer to assume that you won't be allowed a phone in psychiatric care as that seems to be what's most common.
