I'm freelance so, my time is my own to schedule- so long as I meet my deadlines. I've always been slow and, hate rushing so, I've always worked extra (unpaid) hours in order to work at a more leisurely pace.

Recently, I've struggled much more with motivation. I find it hard to start in the mornings. Then, I finish later in order to compensate and, the cycle repeats.

I guess on average, I do 12 hours on, 12 hours off. I've felt like I've been slacking the past few years (comparatively) but then, Googling it, 11 hours off is the requirement so now- I feel like it's no wonder I'm so tired! Especially when it's months and months of 7 day weeks like that.

I guess when I did a retail job, I had a minimum of 14 hours off between shifts. I hated that job though!

How about you? If you work, do you have an amount of hours or schedule you struggle to maintain?

As an aside note, I get off very lightly. 16 hour days aren't uncommon in my job.

Typical workday is (should be) 8 hours. So 12 hours is a long day. I cannot imagine working like that all the time. People who have 12 hours shifts have free days to compensate. In average it is standard to work ~ 170 hours per month.

16 days hour workday cannot be maintained for long in my opinion. When I worked 12+ hours, it was usually for a week or two.

I work 7-8 hrs generally so 16 or 17 in a 24hr period. When I worked 12hr shifts it was only for 3 days so it wasn't bad.

I used to work 8 hours but now they only schedule me for like 4-6 hours, plus I have 3 days off in the week so sometimes I have like 18 hours or so to sleep, eat and do what I want.

I work 2 jobs - usually I work between 10-14 hours a day. 7 days a week. I *usually* get major holidays off, but not always. Christmas and thanksgiving are the only real guaranteed ones. Life is expensive 😩
