Hi, I'm new here. What is discussed here is a topic you cannot safely talk honestly about (even to a therapist). For that reason I think it's an important resource for those who are truly perpetually suffering. I know that my uh… bus ride is inevitable. So I hope to build a rapport here and eventually be able to get the info I need about SN. Otherwise it will be a shotgun. I'm fine with either really. Any advice either about navigating this website or otherwise is greatly appreciated. I'm from the USA. I'm a male in my 30s. Thank you so much. Places like this should not be demonized. My uncle was euthanized with the help of the famous Jack Kevorkian when I was a kid. Those who help others in circumstances where there will be no thanks. In fact, they risk negative repercussions. Those people have a level of altruism that humanity needs more of.

Hello and welcome! As Walter says this is an awesome community. I suggest reading and participating in as many of the threads you feel comfortable with. Lots of information sharing going on, but I also feel that I've grown as a person, learning about the different viewpoints we all have on just about anything. I agree with you that this forum serves an important and unacknowledged role- permitting people to talk about suicide without fear of very heavy handed treatment, guilt about making loved ones panic, or fear of being abandoned because we revealed something people don't want to cope with.
This is an amazing community of people I've found. I also express my gratitude to all in helping me to get through my life until I'm in the situation where I can leave it. (I'm waiting for my Dad to pass first.)
