Looks ingenious. Have you tested by pulling yourself up on it?

So I set it up, I was being caught in fisherman's knot, I couldn't do it to secure the weights to the ladder, and I still can't, I did another double hitch, which should be fine, since there are two fixing points for them, but whatever.
And here's the final drop, I have a flimsy stool under my feet, and when I drop I have about 20-30cm of free space, should be enough, will be enough, why not.
I hope the pictures are elaborate, I had to fix the stool so it'd stay flat on the stairs.
I don't know what I don't know, but we'll see.
Again, some part of the pics are blurred to protect the privacy.

Smart stuff Ray! That gap is more than enough. Once it cinches, the noose won't drop more than 10-15cm and your neck obviously won't stretch beyond another 10-15. Even if you somehow ended up touching the floor by the end of it all and turning it into a partial, it wouldn't matter, because you'd be well past saving yourself by that point.

Thank you, yeah of course, as best as I could, but since the stool is flimsy, and the loop being high, I can't really push on it.
But in terms of knots and whatnot, it's all good, I had tested the knots that I'm using in a different setup, the rope too, there isn't much that could go wrong.

Thank you, yeah I figured even if I touch the ground with the tip of my toes, it isn't gonna be enough.
Also I forgot to post the picture of the anchor point.
And in case anyone wondering, I'm using double hitch knots in three different places, if one of them fails, there are two more, but I highly doubt it, I have tested this knot by putting my whole weight on it and pushing as hard as I could, and it doesn't bulge.

Awesome. Do you live alone then Ray? Are your neighbours an issue at all in terms of the thrashing?

Thanks for asking, matter of fact, that's the only issue.
I don't live alone, I live in a two floor house and my parents live downstairs, very unfortunately indeed.
They can't/don't come upstairs, but the wall that the rope is against is kind of hallow and makes noises if you tap on it hard enough, so that's the only issue, however I will be doing it either midday, or when they aren't home, I don't know yet, but they go out of the house quite often, so not a real issue, doable, but not whenever I want, which is fine, if you're ready, you're ready, it's gonna happen.

I see. Well if they never go upstairs, then I presume you can leave your setup as it is, ready for any opportune moment. Playing some music or turning on something like the tumble dryer might be an idea too. Are you going to take anything before hand? Do you plan to go imminently?

Yeah, I went into trouble of making this because I could leave it as is.
I plan on going soon, maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after, I don't know honestly, but I doubt that it's gonna be that long.
And as for what I might be taking, it'll probably be just some alcohol, that's all, I only have access to that and weed, and weed is terrible for this.

That's good about leaving it be. Wow, that is soon. I'll be going in a matter of weeks myself, so I'll be seeing you on the side soon enough man. Yeah, alcohol will definitely help, just don't get drunk right. I recently got into ashwandgha, it definitely calms you down and increases the detachment from yourself if that makes sense. The two combined will accentuate the affect of the other. If you're in the UK, I can send you a PM for the one I can vouch for. I plan on taking decent doses of both before hand. And yeah, weed is the worst drug for any CBT I can think of haha.

Damn, be seeing you soon then.
Hope all goes according to the plan, that's all that matters! Wish you the best.
I'd love to have that to calm me down, but unfortunately not possible, technical issues with the customs and whatnot, but it's alright, alcohol is good enough, but thank you very much for your offer.

.best rope (thickness, material type)

.best knots for noose and to secure

.best place to put it around your neck

.any other important information you think will help

This was the first post here and I'm wondering why no one answered them all together. I'm especially interested in a knot to secure. Just search for "bowline" on youtube. There is also yosemite bowline which is used in climbing

I have a question. Say your anchor point is a strong tree branch. Why not slowly lower yourself while holding on to the tree branch with your hands instead of suddently dropping and having your whole weight pulling down on your throat? Once you lose consciousness your hand will let go right? And it's not like your hand can reach back up to the branch to do a pullup while convulsing. This is the way i intend to do it so I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

One simple reason. You'll lower your chances of cutting off the carotids quickly and completely. You'll risk keeping open the blood supply to the head for a little longer. This will likely prolong any pain and suffering, and leave you blue in the face (literally), which I'm sure you'll agree, isn't what you want or anyone else who looks upon you. If you do this hard and fast, you'll likely leave a pale and placid complexion, which will appear both more peaceful and merciful.

Obviously everything is ready for me.
I have been ready too, but there is something that prevents us all.
Be it worrying about the others, or yourself, as if the method may not work.

But let's get to the point.
Currently there is only one thing that worries me, and it's the fact that I am hanging myself against a wall(see previous posts for pictures), would it have any impact on the hanging?
I'd appreciate it if you guys give me your inputs, I am fighting myself to go through with this, but there is always something.

I'm no expert, but I think doing it against the wall is going to make a lot of noise and may attract attention, especially if it is hallow as you said.

Yeah, unfortunately that seems like another issue.
However, thrashing doesn't seem like that big of an issue.

I'm using the term 'seem' because after looking at some suicide hanging vids, it appears that it's not that violent and more importantly, not for that long.
But I am taking it into consideration for sure, and I'll be doing the act with that in mind.

FSH seems to be the best option, especially since obtaining SN is becoming more difficult. I'd prefer to spend my last moments in nature so finding the right location is the most difficult. Making sure the anchor point is strong enough to tighten the knot around my neck is also a concern.

Seeing how people have successfully managed FSH with sheets and makeshift equipment, makes me jealous sometimes.

So I failed.
I was finally able to release myself and hang, but as soon as I did, I got really scared and SI kicked in, and I was able to extend my leg against one end of the wall with my back on the other end, allowing to hold myself and release the tension on the rope and take it out.

What I did learn was that it wasn't painful, even though I fell instead of slowly releasing myself.
However, my throat hurts really badly and swallowing is hard, but the pain can be managed.

I don't really know what to do, I thought it was a one way ticket, but I guess not, really disappointed.
Now I'm trying to find an anchor point without anything near me, but don't seem to find anything.
Why does it have to be so hard?

I'll be trying again when my throat heals, because the pain is severe and can't really put the rope around my neck anymore.

Is there an expert who can help me with FSH? You can open a chat or conversation if you feel like helping me. I need to know what you can buy to have an achor point in your own flat and what's best practice.

Could you be able to dm me the link to these videos? I feel like it's necessary to watch as many hanging videos as possible.

So I've bought a dowel and a screw with an eyelet. It's 10mm in size and the dowel holds 10-14mm. So you think this will hold a 100kg person. The dowel says it holds up to 285kg. Or is there a better solution? The ceiling is made out of concrete. I can take a picture of it if you want to.

Do you place the rope above the adams apple or the last third of the neck? Knot behind?

Also I was told that the rope needs to be longer if you use the fishermens bend but mine can't be longer than 50cm in total with the noose knot. Is that sufficient?
