My psychiatrist just brushed me off

This morning I had my meeting with my psychiatrist. But - as often - I wasn't feeling well (heatwaves makes me feel very bad and tired)

So I called her to cancel the meeting.

She said "You should have told me earlier, ask your family doctor for the next prescription. Goodbye"

Well, I'm really confused... She didn't give me another meeting date, so she doesn't want me for patient anymore ! Is it normal ??

I guess she will be surprised too the day she will hear about my suicide. I have good reasons to hate doctors. Most of them just treated me like shit all my miserable "life". Fuck everything !!

Yeah it's normal for some of them. The same thing happened to me. Apparently they think their time is really valuable. I hate them.

As someone who once worked in an appointment based business. Last minute/same day cancelations do piss people off because they could have scheduled someone else in the timeslot and they lose money. That being said, if this is the first time you have done this, usually you get a second chance before getting dismissed from a practice. Usually you get an official letter in the mail, though not dismissed through a phonecall. But If you need meds now and can't get them in time from another DR, your psychiatrist has to prescribe them or in the US it is considered 'patient abandonment' and they can get in trouble for that.

I'm sorry to hear that, may i ask if you can find another psychiatrist that can be good for you, maybe you can get a better treatment and feel better

Fuck her, what an unprofessional pos. So many psychiatrists do this it's unbelievable, like newsflash it's ur fucking job
