Is the heroin good/pure and not mixed with other stuff that makes it weak? I would recommend doing a test first with a little bit, just to check the potential of it.
You could take Xanax, but be careful, it could make you sloopy and making injecting harder, maybe even ruining it.
Or you could snort the Heroin (white powder state), giving you minutes to relax and/or go to the bed/place you can lay and rest.
Yes, the heroin is pure. It's the most expensive and quality form I can get. It's been routed and tested by an underground network of vendors (ever heard of DNStars?), and I know that I won't get scammed/etc. And I don't believe that snorting heroin is nearly as lethal as administering it intravenously, or else I wouldn't bother trying to find a needle, haha.
Going into a vein when distressed and possibly shaking could be bad, go into one you know well. Be hydrated to make it easier.

Yes, I can do this in a bathtub for sure. And I won't be distressed, or shaking. I'm ready to leave this planet. I feel relief when I plan out my suicide, not fear or sadness.

I am most definitely not an experienced shooter, at all. I've never done heroin. I just smoke and drink a lot. But, I know that my death will be euphoric if I plan it out correctly, hence my reasoning for heroin. Also, Xanax is a miracle drug. It would make me that much less hesitant to finish the job correctly, the first time.
I don't think you need to involve the carotid. There's too much risk of failing and then requiring assistance. Also, the vein is just as effective. Nothing is really gained by going for the artery. Good luck. I hope it's amazing for you.
