After research, it was found that proton pump inhibitors (PPI) were not useful for the SN process. Nor any other drug that changes the behaviour of your stomach producing acid. You only need something that reduces the stomach acid quickly.
I just now looked at the recent edition of PPH and it recommends Tagamet or a proton pump inhibitor such as Nexium.
It calls them "poteniators" namely that they make the SN more potent. It says they increase absorption.
Proton pump inhibitors reduce stomach acid.

Taken from Stan's guide

Maybe Stan didn't know that proton pump inhibitors reduce stomach acid because what he said is a contradiction.

I wish I had seen her goodbye's sooner... can only hope, that after all this pain she found peace, it's so unfair that many of us has to suffer like this.

don't even know why I care so much about someone I never talked with, maybe it's because I saw many of her posts recently... idk.

pls update if you know what happened to her.

Do you think there is a difference between male and female reaction to sn? I have noticed that in the sn reports where the person is female, their body reacts differently than males. It is more prolonged and more painful. Perhaps I am imagining this though. Can anyone confirm?

Also once you've taken it, I feel like calling for help is useless. By the time any help arrives, you would have passed out. By calling for help, you still go through the whole process AND you live.

I'm so sad for op. She really deserved a peaceful exit. I wonder if this is what went wrong.... I wonder if she took too much or too little since measuring spoons were used instead of a food scale. I hope op found peace after all that.

before i finally ctb at midnight tonight i want to know if there are any changes anyone would suggest i make to my plan. keep in mind i do not have access to an antiemetic but have a strong ability to hold back vomit as well as making extra cups of SN in case i vomit.

-i've been fasting since 9pm last night
-1hour before: 600mg of ibuprofen
-15minutes before: double dose of tums
-mix 3 cups of 3 heaping teaspoons of SN (equal to about 25g) with 1/4 cup of water
-take at midnight
-lay in my bed with a bag (in case of vomiting) listening to music and wait for my bus

any tips or changes anyone has?

Maybe a more potent antacid? an antiemetic? those are the only flaws I could see.

It's possible she took too much. She fasted for 27 hours too. Also could tums be a bad antacid to use? I am trying to figure it out.

Too much is what I'm thinking. It's pretty important people use a scale. I've noticed a worrying trend where people estimate with measuring spoons. I'm quite apposed to the risk.

Either way you are poisoning yourself with "salt". It's a horrible way to go no matter how you shake it. It's a long, drawn out physiological change that makes minutes feels like hours. It hurts, it's uncomfortable, it's not a light experience.

I was telling her it was peaceful and painless in the chat before she did it, with only a mild bit of discomfort, judging by recent ctbs. I guess it's not. :(

Felt like she took the SN too soon before the 600mg of Ibuprofen and tums can work their way through her body. I feel the drug interactions between the two caused her to throw up. Not really supposed to take 600mg of Ibuprofen on an empty stomach then trying to eat something salty like SN. Metabolism plays a factor on how well your body can absorb stuff, if you lived a sedentary lifestyle, then it will be slow to absorb while an athlete will absorb much faster. That's why when I take SN, I make sure I do a quick 1 mile run around the block so that my body readily accepts the salt as good.

I'm sad that her exit wasn't peaceful and that she had complications taking SN. I wish her peace in the afterlife, sometimes death has to beat you up a bit before it takes you. Sleep well sister.

Thanks to @franklynlb for collating this. I'm adding time stamps. @willitpass said she was taking SN at midnight her time (and seems to have taken it a little early) so that's the time I'm using.

23:47PM the mixture smells like nothing
23:48 all 3 cups are mixed
23:50 i am about to lay down in bed and drink the first glass (i have a bag and extra glasses in case i throw up
23:50 it's extremely salty holy shit
23:52 i'm sucking on a hard candy for the taste
23:52 i initially gagged on it but the hard candy helped with that
23:53 my heart is starting to pound
23:53 little bit of nausea
23:54 two big chugs
23:54 it's in stans guide that sucking on something can help with the test
23:54 my chest feels extremely warm for some reason
23:55 here is a warmth spreading throughout my body
23:55 i can't tell if i'm hot or what
23:56 getting dizzy
23:56 very dizzy
23:56 gonna pass out
23:56 goodbye i'm gonna pass out soon
23:56 fuck this hurts
23:56 my body is so hot
23:57 i don't feel so good
23:57 i feel my pulse in my head
23:58 so nauseous
23:58 sweating
23:58 trying hard not to throw up
23:59 6 (to a how painful you are feeling?)
23:59 gonna puke
00:01AM threw up
00:02 need another glass but idk if i can keep it down
00:03 i kept it in for 10 minutes is that enough
00:03 the stomach pain and sweating is better but my entire body is tingling and i'm blue
00:05 i'm scared, i want to call for help
00:05 i don't want to live but i don't think i can handle another glass
00:06 i'm getting very dizzy again
00:07 my heading is pointing and i'm dizzy
00:07 i hear ringing
00:08 hot and sweaty again
00:11 i told my boyfriend to fall for help, i don't know if he'll be here i time
00:14 i don't want to live, i just don't think this will kill me
00:14 if i thought this would kill me i would continue but my body is completely rejecting this in a horrible uncomfortable way
00:16 i'm not sure, he made it very trivial as to whether he is actually getting helpnorbjot
00:17 my whole body tingles
00:17 my fingers are blue
00:19 feeling extremely light headed

Like others, I very much hope that she is okay one way or another. This is so hard, knowing what it feels like wanting to ctb just to find peace, but not having a guaranteed and peaceful way to do it. The thoughtful discussion members are having about the process is much appreciated. Every time I think I am understanding the best way to use the SN it seems like more variables come up. Like someone said, it is probably very individualized for each person. Will need to keep learning.

What is recommended by PPH is a proton pump inhibitor to really shut down stomach acid production.

Proton pump inhibitors take time to build up in your system. I was on PPI for 2 years. in my expirience it takes 2-3 days to feel the effect of PPI. So I guess it's better to start taking PPI at least 2-3 days befor the date.

I am definitely not super eager to go via SN after reading this thread. Nembutol or opiate overdose seems much preferable. I actually ODed on heroin once (had also drank alot of alcohol). And I don't remember anything just blacked out and then woke up in hospital.

I am searching the chat. She took the ibuprofen 1 hour 8 minutes before and the antacid 36 minutes before. The recommend is 1 hour for the ibuprofen and 30 minutes for the antacid. I don't think she took the SN too soon after them.

Spend all the time you want breaking down metabolic reaction, drug combinations and timing - physiologically this is not a mild or peaceful way to go at all, despite any claims to the opposite. You pass out and go unconscious after a horrifying chemical change in the way your blood and body process compounds at a cellular level. Heart palpitations and anxiety is the lowest common denominator in what is a brutal overdose process.

But jellyfish simply drank it passed out and that was it. He didn't go through any pain. All he took was 4 ibuprofin.

Toxic doses of sodium nitrite cause excessive methaemoglobinaemia which prevents the red cells in the blood carrying oxygen to tissues.

Bradyasystolic cardiac arrest usually rapidly develops. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, lethargy, shortness of breath, convulsions and coma are evident soon after intoxication, especially if levels of methemoglobinemia are higher than 60%. Methemoglobinemia levels above 70% usually proved to be fatal, but cases of survival with levels up to 94% have been reported.

6/10 pain and nausea seems unpleasant but tolerable. The more worrying aspect to me is what happens after you pass out. Brain is still alive and are you dreaming? What would your dreams be like if you are actually physically dying?

It is probably no different than what happens if it were a 'natural' death. No way around mortality anyway.
