side note, i have around 52-56 200 mg ibuprofen pills stashed, would they (ironically) cause pain if it takes too long?

I haven't done much research on Ibuprofen related suicide, because I haven't had to. Everyone recommends against that I've seen. It causes liver damage and severe pain. The only thing that sounds like it will work from your plan is hanging.

The former could cause liver damage but won't be enough to stop the pain from slitting your wrists and the latter won't kill you but could cause severe trauma to your nerves, tendons, muscles, ligaments etc and not only prevent you from being able to continue with your plans but also leave with you with potentially permanent injuries.

To be honest, while I'm currently cutting daily, I wish I'd never started. It's addictive and creates additional problems all of its own. I'm currently anaemic because of my SH and each time I cut, I make it worse but I can't stop. I'm not going to offer any advice on how to get yourself into a similar hole as me. aww, alr, sorry! tbh, in me worst months/weeks i cut only every other day, cuz i usually feel better the day after, but it ain't all that deep. just a bit of ol blood drippage, but no scarring. DOES take a while to fade away, though, n it's created an area on me thighs that's more resistant to pain-

curious, do ye pop ice cubes into yer mouth sometimes? i used to do it, apparently it's a sign of iron deficiency-

If you want to cut a blood vessel, you should go for your femoral artery, or your brachial artery.

Ibuprofen is OTC for a reason--it will not kill you. Liver damage isn't a game you want to play; I can tell you that as an alcoholic approaching 40. Organ damage is DEBILITATING. Any human being is responsible to source their own data beyond social media commentary... in case that needed to be said (I am responsible to try to be accurate but y'know as your average idiot I'm not that responsible)]

It will not make it easier to kill yourself if all of the sudden you chuck on a whole bunch of trauma, pain, nausea, etcetera. Not at all.

I understand risk taking behaviour and all that. Hell I've got adverse scar tissue in both of my wrists, so that means sometimes I have limited range of motion and all the time I am in pain in my hands and forearms. It's from cutting my veins. The more superficial wounds didn't fuck with any of the functional shit.

I dunno, you do you but you're not planning a lethal activity. You're planning a high risk activity, and the consequences will be shitty and they won't go away and they won't make it easier to kill yourself if your stated goal is to do that.

So... consider that as you will.

EDIT: hanging I did not bring up because it's simple enough to accomplish and has less chance of lifelong debility but still fails all the time so y'know at least do some planning. Probably don't even try the other two.

i DO have a rock collection, however, and some of the rocks in me possession can be toxic when dissolved in water (malachite and selenite come to mind). could i ctb with those? if i fail, i'd feel devastated to damage some o me precious little lads, but it's a necessary sacrifice.

Malachite is copper carbonate hydroxide and selenite is calcium sulphate. They are both poorly soluble in water. Calcium sulphate is essentially non-toxic. Copper carbonate hydroxide may cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea but is not well absorbed and is much less toxic than other soluble copper compounds. Even the highly soluble copper sulphate is not especially toxic: it's routinely used in high school science labs and used to be used as an emetic. Copper poisoning is extremely rare and normally only occurs with genetic conditions that affect the metabolism of copper compounds. Save your mineral collection: this is not the way to go.

It won't work. At best you'll make yourself a bit sick. For ibuprofen 50 tablets isn't even a very large OD: serious toxic effects are reported above 150 tablets (30g).

Ibuprofen is more nephrotoxic than hepatatotoxic, so you'd have more of a chance of fucking up your kidneys than your liver. Ibuprofen is one of the more relatively safe OTC pain killers, as well as being irritating to the stomach even in regular quantities, so you'd probably throw it up early on and if you did manage to overdose you may well not do any damage with it. Don't even bother. It can thin blood, however I believe that takes place over extended use, I'm not sure that one overdose would cause rapid blood thinning, and again, odds are you'll throw it up anyway.

Slitting your wrists is notoriously unreliable. The arteries are deeper than you realize, and veins will not bleed enough to kill you. You will not be able to reach down to your arteries in a non psychotic state before your body will tell you to stop and you won't be able to continue even if you try. The pain would be beyond horrific before you even got close. Any artery in your body is strategically placed under layers of muscle and tissue to protect it from getting nicked. It's not a viable option and OTC pain killers wouldn't even touch the pain you would be feeling.
