Which is probably why heartbreaks/breakups are one of the most common reasons for CTB. Going through withdrawals from a drug called love, probably feels like all light has gone out of your life.

The age old saying "its better to have loved and lost than never loved at all" is the most sado-maschistic saying ever. Love makes you vulnerable, and when its over you're worse off than when you started. It never ever lasts. And then there's just a void that can't truly ever be filled again. I wouldnt recommend looking for love to stop yourself from CTB. If you're looking to get your heart broken and feel hopeless and have even more motivation to CTB then yeah knock yourself out I guess. Its overrated. If its not real love it sucks. If it is real then its even more painful

Hermestrimegistus, love the name. I have read a lot of hermetic stuff. That was before I was in a suicidal death spiral. Now I don't care. I found that philosophies help me feel better only if I am already in a good place. Once my suicidal thoughts kick in no amount of philosophical wisdom does shit. I've studied Hermeticism, Buddhism, Zen, Taoism, Gnosticism and Christianity. None help when my mind is fucked. So there for I must die.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I believe that EVERYONE deserves to feel the most wonderfull love of their lifes and being love at least once time, no matter what they have done. I wish you good luck finding someone, really dude, but I don't suggest this option only to stop doing CBT because you would put allá in that card, and If that fail, you"ll only end worst. Romantically speaking, no one is so important to die for love after a relationship is over (but our parents, if they where good parents.). We deserve to die in we own terms for ourselves.
