  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Hi guys, don't know if you guys have heard about the young man in London, who saved a lady from drowning in the River Thames, and ultimately ended up losing his own life? Will it was confirmed some time this week that the woman hasn't gotton in touch with his family to express remorse or otherwise. Following this news she has been criticised on social media and tik tok. I feel so sorry for this woman, as I've been in her shoes; wanting and trying to kill myself, but being saved. I also feel sad for Jimi (the guy who saved her) and his family. But none of us know what is going on with this woman. I just don't think she should be blamed and ostracised.

Where are you from? I'm from the UK and I can't find anything about her on google, it's strange. Even using multiple, specific search terms.

I feel bad for her too but I don't blame people trying to rescue someone, without knowing even the reason they were in the Thames. If I was a good swimmer I might've jumped in too.

So why is she being blamed and ostracised?
My first impulse was to be angry at the woman, thinking she maybe fell by accident or something of that nature. But after reading your post I do have compassion for both her and the man who saved her. I saved two little girls from drowning years ago, their parents were too drunk and high to realize they were in the river. I saw their little fingers come out of the water.

Yes, your right it could have been an accident. Maybe I've got suicide on the brain. However, I still don't think she should be condemned. The guilt must be crazy. Wow, for saving those two little girls. How amazing!

Yes, I'm from the UK. This actually happened in April, but it has resurfaced. Yes, I think it's a good thing that others care enough to help, not criticising that at all.

This is how hypocritical the Pro-lifers are and how they betray themselves when they claim to be compassionate. I assume this woman was attempting suicide? If so, she obviously didn't want to be saved and must've been in quite a state of mind already to jump from a bridge. Now she has to deal with the death of someone who of his own volition jumped in after her. She may be traumatized and may now be dealing with survivors guilt but the mob wants after her? There's no compassion there.

RIP to that kind, brave man.

She is dying a million deaths on the inside every day. If they really wanted to show support for what happened, they'd help her too.
