Yesterday and initially today I was unable to connect to this website. Was that the DDos or something else ?

Yes, the site was DDOS'ed again, and admin has worked hard resolving it. They're striving to fix this issue, so don't panic when it happens to go down. It just takes time to sort it all out and get things running properly again.
