Venting just when i thought life was getting better

just when i thought life was getting slightly better, i feel even worse.
i had/have a single friend who i talk to everyday almost all day, we understand each other and we are each other's only friend. however i still feel lonely. we vent to each other and we don't expect advice or comfort back but i still feel lonely, i still feel sad and depressed. i feel hopeless, im thinking of just getting into drugs to see if i can forget how i feel. i am contemplating suicide now. what is the best method? i was thinking OD
