  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

The UK was voting on assisted dying and I heard a few weeks ago that they voted against it but I think they delayed the Max Mosley autopsy and cause of death to after the vote as it would have added credibility to voting yes to an assisted suicide.

I don't believe in assisted dying. Most people wouldn't be eligible anyway if this would be a common thing.

How about people who are very sick, but not sick enough to die from their illness?? Have you thought about that? I belong in that category and I wish assisted suicide was legal in every country.

There are very few people like you among everyone who want peaceful exist.

Assisted dying would require so much time, documentation, legal procedures that most people wouldn't even want to bother with it and would give up and do it by themselves.

Baby steps my friend, once it's approved, then in time it can be tweaked to aid everyone even those who are not suffering, I think in time, overpopulation may add value to the argument.

If you want to aid the human race please take this suicide pill, :halo:

I'm not against it. I'm just being realistic. If assisted suicide would be available it's still not going to be easily accessible.

More than half the population supports MAID. Only backwards religious dogma and ignorance works against it.

I find it strange if you ask a holy person why does GOD allow people to do such evil things and the answer is God will not interfere with people's choices in life but then religion interferes with our decisions.

My experience is if you get to asking too many difficult questions about how it works, the answers get murky and... angrier :ahhha:

As soon as we aren't needed to pay taxes any more, when everything is done robotically and by AI, when the ageing and ill population are nothing but a burden on society, then I suspect assisted dying will be more than approved, even encouraged, throughout every country!

I think the aging and ill are big-time cash cows for some powerful people (powerful via buying lawmakers and having stockholders). So this will never be the case in the US.

Depends what you mean by AI. Robotic, dexterous machinery with precise sensory capability will replace low-skilled jobs almost completely. Over the next 200 years, things will change beyond belief. Highly conscientious people with average, or below average, intelligence will be struggling to find anything to do with their time, unless we come up with some environmental role for everyone to work towards, like planting new trees all day or something like that. Ethical farming and animal welfare might be a possibility, if they stop with this anti-meat, pro-vegan bullshit. If all we are eating is veg, they will get machines to deal with the entire process. If we keep farming meat, milk and chickens, then maybe people could work a few days a week helping with that, and then spend the rest of their week injecting heroin and smoking DMT. I don't know, it all looks pretty bleak. A lot of people will find life pointless without necessity to work towards goals in order to improve their lives. That incentive reward is what keeps a lot of people going.

Again, this is wishful thinking.

Where is the oil going to magically come from to operate this proposed technology ? How is this sort of thing supposed to come about With the increasing capital destruction from climate disasters?

Too much unfounded optimism around technology from the techno narcissists. The average middle easterner is more in tune with reality - they are getting their ass beat because the US doesn't have enough oil on their own and they are being genocided for oil and other resources.

Every time a "technology" CEO or executive dies, I laugh. The western nations and now the Chinese are using their technology to enforce a global tyranny. There is nothing more funny than a dead San Francisco mass surveillance technology company employee

At some point little tiny drone will be invented that are programmed to recognize and penetrate a human skull, and some maniac releasing these will genocide an entire country, and probably most of the humans on earth - I think this is where we are likely heading - a huge mass extinction of humans with just enough left to start over, and let the earths' environment recover - and we forever more keep the population n larger than 100, million, living in one country, and the rest of the world is left to flourish, and if we need some resources from somewhere we do it without effecting the environment

If you do something you always affect the environment . Entropy isn't negotiable

You're reaching too much for this conclusion about tiny drones. Humans will go extinct either way it's only a matter of time and how

Effect it in the least damaging way we can! When we plough or harvest a field we kill thousands of small mammals, insects and invertebrates - Vegans seem to ignore this fact!
