Looking at your life as a perfectionist is miserable knowing its harder to be content with what youre dealt withI'd say my God parents got pretty close to being content with their lives. It's not like they didn't have problems though. More, that they were very good at enjoying what they had and being grateful. They also pursued the things they wanted in life. Even if that meant working hard to afford stuff, organizing social events etc.
When one of them died, I was so worried the other would fall apart. They were such a rock solid couple. Even there though, there was an age gap to begin with. It's almost like they had already prepared themselves for bereavement.
I did really admire their attitude towards life although- I don't see life that way at all- obviously! I think they felt pretty frustrated with me- actually.
