I'm using a .5 inch diameter rope with a noose knot and socks to press on the carotid arteries. While pulling the rope with my hands I can get the passing out feeling like losing body control and vision blurring, but I notice one side of my neck getting pulled significantly more than the other. Could this cause a problem when trying to ctb, or is there a way to fix that?

I was just about to ask this, I'm having the same issue. I can feel the one artery I'm pushing on pulsing against the socks I'm using as pressure points, and while the other is placed right, it's a lot looser. I can get around it for a second by moving my head around and getting equal pressure, but I lose it as soon as my body gets a bit looser.

Maybe it's the angle?

I cannot make a commentary on whether or not it will affect your attempt, but are you sure that you are placing the knot at the center back of your neck? Or as suggested above, are you at an angle compared to your anchor point?

I keep reading that people use the slip knot but I'm not really sure how that would be any different. I've been trying to place the knot in the opposite direction it's pulling after tightening it myself to compensate for the pull but I'm not sure if that will work either. Also hello again!

I'm only using my hands right now to test, but no matter what angle I pull from/where the knot is, the rope turns one way around my neck depending on which side the adjustable part of the knot is.

Hello again!

I am using a slip knot, what knot are you using? I guess if we're both having the same issue despite different knots, that might not be the problem.

I'm using a noose knot, which is basically a reverse slip knot lol.

I just realized you don't get the notification if I don't reply. I'm using a noose knot which is like a reverse slip knot.
