I am scared that once I kill myself, I may have to continue suffering in another dimension or reality.

I don't want to be reincarnated. I don't want to live as a ghost. I don't want to experience the "in-between of life and death". I don't want to go to heaven or hell. I just want to stop existing in all forms, dimensions, and realities.

I wish I could just die with the confidence that death is the end of it all. I'm scared of the uncertainty that my life won't end with death.

Does anyone have near-death experiences that could attest to what might actually happen after death?

Your consciousness arises from inside your brain. When you die, all the cells in your body die, including the neurons in your brain— everything that's responsible for consciousness.

There are potential neurochemical and neuroanatomical explanations for NDEs. It's possible that brain damage, for instance, can cause hallucinations.

Sure, we can't say for certain what happens to your consciousness after you die but I think that it disappears and you return to the same oblivion that preceded your birth is the best explanation.

This is what I think sometimes

Death is precious, and valuable, that is why they do not want us to reach it, it is tireless and insurmountable...
She is the mother of all and the final destiny of all, and it is unnatural not to want to reach her, it is abnormal for me to abstain from something inevitable, and at the same time beautiful because of the uncertainty of what may or may not happen after dying, it is a one way trip with no return, but it is totally worth living, it is like entering a black hole, you know that you will not get out but... you know that it is worth it...

reincarnation would be good for you tho when ur reincarnated you dont recall your past life so its not that big of a deal. whether youre a ghost or what not yeah maybe that would suck but no one on here can tell you what happens you have to just believe what you believe accept what you think or just accept you dont know and just hope for the best

No one knows what's after death, but if one possibility of reincarnation may be true, so may any other one I guess . Like, maybe instead of suicide making you reincarnated to some place worse and suffer, it is that suicide can stop you from being reincarnated, because when killing yourself you're with the intent that you're truly sick of life (compared with those who are persistent in playing life's games, passing life's tests and suffer until they die a natural death).

To be honest, who knows. Personally I hope it's eternal void and non-existence.

For me it always helps to consider the unknown by what is known.

We were all not alive once and we know two things about it:
1. We don't remember it
2. It didn't last forever.

So based on that I surmise that the next time we're not alive:
1. We won't remember it
2. It won't last forever

You don't know that, and hopefully you'll have a happier existence in your next life... IF it happens, which I doubt very much.

I too, hope for nothingness !

High possibility of this being true, more so than "consciousness stops at death".

People may as well know what they're up against.

I'd assume that even if reincarnation existed, since there hasn't really been anyone being able to remember their last life, and considering that you probably don't remember anything before birth either, even if you were reborn, it'd be a different you. You wouldn't feel the pain and share the feelings you do now. It would be clean, and comfortable, and new, nothing scary. And you would escape it all anyways.

Imagine getting a chance for a better life and thinking killing yourself is the way. With this mentality you don't deserve to live you ungrateful rat

I don't want to directly quote the reply to feed this troll, but it's none of anyone's business why someone wants to kill themselves. Why bother joining this forum then, other than to preach your pro-life stance? Suicide is strictly someone's own personal choice.

Anyway, there have been people who technically died but were then revived. More often than not, nothing happened other than them falling unconscious. It's safe to say that there's no life after death, and I wouldn't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I worried about this also for the longest time. When I was a kid I would be taken to church and raised around my grandparents who never missed a day or event. I had the fear that if you were bad, took your own life, lazy, etc you'd go to hell for eternal torment.

Now with the torment I already go through I feel that I can continue with my torment here and postpone my torment that will happen when I'm gone OR I can just end this torment so I can get the next one started sooner….
better to deal with one or live while continuously being afraid of the next torment.

It is not you who is afraid but it is your brain that is afraid. Without the brain there is no fear. It is not you who wants something but it is your brain that desires. Without the brain there are no desires.

Nothing exists after death, once your consciousness has gone that's it.

There is no soul, afterlife or reincarnation. Its not about belief or not knowing, it is all 100% proven.

Also, we are all definitely going to die eventually anyway, so it's all a meaningless question anyway.

I very strongly believe so, I believe that once we lose consciousness that is it for us, we are gone and consciousness is stored in the brain. All that existing beings are doing is just waiting to return to non-existence, they are destined for nothing but to decay and die.

Existence was just a horrific and unnecessary mistake in the first place, all the suffering is as a result of existence and without existence one cannot suffer, I believe death to be nothing more than a dreamless, eternal sleep where all is forgotten about, the thought of being dead is so incredibly comforting.

Everyone has their own beliefs and theories. From my perspective I end when my brain dies, there is nothing after. Its a very permanent, but effective way to end suffering.

No one can say for 100% certain what happens after you die.

But there are several options:

- the end of consciousness. You don't remember being alive before you were born, so it's logical that it's also what happens when you die. Just the end.

- some form of resurrection. A lot of people believe this

- meeting god, for those that believe in this

The truth is, no one really knows for sure because no one has died and come back to tell us the full story.

You have to go with whatever you believe.

I have a small garden, I went outside just right now. I see a group of ants walking in a line, all it takes is just one little step. *SPLAT* dead. You ever see what happens when you break their formation like that, I'd take a photo but my phone's camera is messy, the ants get confused by the violence and huddle together in a defensive position, they aggressively accumulate in the spot of their dead comrades ready to fight their foe.
... Standing all together like that makes them an easy target for *SPLAT.*

Did these ants go to heaven? Did these ants go to hell? I have never stepped on these ants before, they had no indication that this would happen to them, I just did it to prove some internet stranger a point and so *SPLAT*SPLAT* they are dead. There is no God. There is no higher being. There is only me and you. I see no soul of theirs disburse, I see no dimension emerge all I see is corpses ready to decompose in the sun to be picked off by the nearby hungry worms, wiggle wiggle I can sense them pursing their tiny grub holes.

Oh you think we the homosapiens are oh so special. So what if the Homo sapiens have built mighty houses and nice little cars. *SPLAT* What makes these creatures more valued than the ants. *SPLAT* SPLAT* SPLAT* God does not exist. Your depression means nothing to no-higher being *SPLAT*, your tears means nothing to no-higher being *SPLAT*, your doom means nothing to no-higher being *SPLAT,* not a single higher fucking being will be there for a SPLATTED ANT. But your friends will rally around you, they will be shocked and confused, they will run around ready to fight the cruel being that splatted you to your death, and in time they too will be *SPLATTED*

I think the hard part about it is that you can't really imagine what it's like because you won't exist to have any recollection of it.
I personally do believe that there is nothing after I die, that I will go to the same place I came from, soil to soil. But we can never know.
