Imagine you have a very simple device, as simple as a single button. When activated, this device will erase your body from reality (or just stop your brain activity, if you like it that way).
There's no way of loosing it or activating it by accident, no one can steal it or even know about it's existence. Perhaps it's not even a button but an "are you sure?" prompt in your head that pops in when you think "I want to die." And you know 100% that it will work.
Will having such a sure method always at hand change anything, or will you just activate it?

Dude this would be the most amazing invention in human history. A humane end to a life that no one asked for. For sure i'd press it.

And think of the implications of this: people thinking others are merely bluffing will be less likely since it's so easy and painless. I think it will actually make society more empathetic and caring since life is now more fragile in a way.

I have been going around for years now, saying to myself that I wish there was such a thing as a " magic button or pill" that would be 100 percent method! Yes, I would do it in a heartbeat!

this may sound weird, but having that button will actually give me more years to live.

i can do whatever i want, and if i fail and end up worse then the button will always be there to save me from suffering any longer.

i guess that is what people who get their N feel to some degree, a weird sense of peace by having the best way to end it all.

Too good to be true, haha.
I wish i had one.
I think that would actually make me more relaxed and would actually help me get better at life. Just knowing that i have my ass covered by such an alternative would make me able to have a much more relaxed and tranquil approach to life, which is just what i need.

If I had a button like that I'd actually get working on clearing up all my stuff and donating things my family wouldn't need after and then, once I got everything cleared out, I'd push the button.

If I had that switch and I was 100% sure that I could die at any time I want I would go crazy and live life just like I want it. I would not give a fuck basically.

This is the freedom granted when you have a readily accessible way out. I never knew it was like that until now.

It truly is empowering.

If I had a button like that I'd probably be a lot more at ease about all of this. Thinking about this for too long is what scares me out of doing it. If I had a button there wouldn't have to be time to think. I wouldn't have to make a plan for it. I could just press it and go at any moment.

I'd probably press it accidentally trying to change the volume or something...then the cat would walk over and verify the "are you sure" prompt and "ACK" I fall over dead at an inconvenient time. It would need to be in some "break for use" glass case locked up in a safe to prevent accidents. Maybe even with a key like the nuclear missiles have as well. Can't be too careful.
