everyday i procrastinate on my ctb practice for the night night method. even when i know it has such a low success rate or shit..ah. and i have some serious exams starting from the day after tomorrow ( i haven't studied shit ). now these exams in india, they decide your future, i ain't criticising the system or anything i just am feeling afraid of doing terrible in these. 'cause from where i stand, ik i won't even score a below average or anything, it's just gonna be a FAIL. my career is about to be ruined, and since i don't care about anything i don't care about these either. but all that depends on my plan to ctb. and i'm just not practicing. i really do create problems for myself, huh.

any of you from india, given BOARDS ?

I saw on the news the little girl 14 killed herself by drinking rat poison because she didn't do good on her exam, its very recent and sad because this is not a valid reason for someone to die for! She wrote a letter asking her parents forgiveness not because she killed herself but because she failed the exam. Life expectations from you is nonsense and it's causing young kids to die… I actually saw it on TikTok and the girl from India…

that's really upsetting. my reason would never be exams tho . all one would need is a muse or sumn that they can look forward to and they'd score the shit out of these exams. but the kerfuffles in my mind, my situations abstain me from thoughts of future betterment.
For the child, this could've been avoided if someone would've been with her, letting her know that it wasn't the end, give her some hope or care so that she could have something to hold onto maybe, but it's happened now, so may she rip.

You can give improvement exam which happen in July or so. No, it doesn't carry any negative connotation, I have known people who got 55% in boards and then they improved upto 85-90%.

I'm pro choice but boards are not suicide worthy. Boards marks don't matter that much unless you're going for IIMs or HFT jobs. Just try to get above 60%. If you don't get 60% now no worries, give an improvement one in July.

Are you preparing for some other competitive exam too?

I have postponed professional exams due to mental health concerns.

Is the test available to take at a later date, or can you request a medical extension?

Being unprepared for an exam is not worth your life. Please take time to heal. Seek a strong support network to assist you.

You will certainly feel terrible if you fail or skip the exam, but make every effort to set that guilt and shame aside. You are experiencing profound difficulty carrying out your daily responsibilities while contending with suicidal ideation. It is not your fault. It's mental illness.

Indian here. I wouldn't do that from the fear of failing an examination, but everyone has different problems they find hard to get over. Are you 18?

Agree on this. Don't go for the exams. I know I'm the last person to say it as I'm about to do ctb soon.

Brother exams doesn't mean shit. Don't do it for them I have given them 5 years back. They haven't changed anything and I personally know those who failed are doing better and happier then me

Can't you just retake the exams if you fail anyway ?

it's true on a personal level but existing in this society we've created, requires you to have a decent career or shit and exams are an easy way to have one. and yk in India it's all governed by the exams nevertheless. either way i don't really care about anything anymore but i have my moments, like i am living a dream rn but sometime i wake up short on breath, anxious, wanting to be awake ( but it's a temporary feeling ). exams just bring this temporary side of me out, i know how much they mean and yet i don't want to work for them, hell i ain't workin' for them anyways.

tbh i can, but everything around me would just be much much worse. and i'm not saying this as an overthinking guy or anything, it's just what happens here. people become very condescending, having a job would become difficult, your own parents loose all trust in your education and academics ( not that they have any but it's comparatively better rn ) and you have to study one more year while your peers are out in colleges. you can say these are like the SATs but mandatory for everyone.

I only know about Maharashtra state board, maybe it's different for other boards...you have to take it for all subjects not just the one you want to improve. Practicals will also be retaken. You also have to at least overall pass (having 35% overall) to give, although I'm not sure about this rule.

To get the admission form, you will have to contact your college when you will be handed your 12th certificate (the statement of marks one). Sometime in late May or early June. The improv exam would be in July. Your final 12th certificate will be determined by which exam you scored the highest, the og one or improv one.

If this doesn't help you then I suggest you ask on reddit, in r/india or r/Indian_Academia or r/JEENEETards. All the best!

You remind me of how I was last year lol. I'm a JEE dropper currently, and last year I was suicidal because I thought I wouldn't even pass my boards! I had begun studying for improvement since March lol. And then in May I got my results as exact 75.00% and pcm aggregate as 62%. So all I'm saying is not worry, 60% and above is v good, plus take improvement if you don't get that much. As long as you're first division then no worries.
