what shall you do
1)jump
2)put your neck on a railway track

Which method has a higher chance of succeeding?

is it instant lights out and what is the probability of succeesing?
My biggest fear is the driver stopping on seeing a human on railway track
i really dont know! but its decapitation from the wheels running over your neck vs jumping in front of it which people sometimes survive with major injuries…so neck is my pick. i think it takes a while for the train to come to a stop so you might still get ran over or hit.

A train's stopping distance is around 1 km, depending on the type of train and its speed more or less

Just don't try train. It's a very brutal way to go. You can expect atleast 5-10 seconds of agony before lights get turned off
Plus you give a lifelong trauma and guilt to the driver for running over you

I wouldn't really advise using a train, since youre kinda just putting the guilt of causing your death on a innocent driver, but putting your neck on the track is definitely gonna work. It should be like, instant decapitation as long as the train doesnt slow down, and even if it does you'll be crushed enough to bleed out pretty quick.

I always imagined putting my neck.
Recently I saw a video of older guy doing just that, with no mistakes and he got hit to the head with the damn pilot (cowcatcher). He still died on the spot.
Every time somebody mentioned it to me in the past I thought bullshit. Now I am a bit afraid of this hellish device, and I plan to visit train yard to measure exactly how high the damn thing hangs. I think there are different kinds.

Traindriver here, very most rail vehicles on this planet have a device to clear anything bigger Infront of the leading wheel. If you go for neck, wich i thought about as well, i highly would recommend doing it in an Train that just starts to move, and not at the locomotive, but at the waggons, these don't have these devices. I've added a picture to show you the "device" (I'm lacking its proper translation) it's a old locomotive in the picture, but moderns have them close to always too.

If that thing hits you, your head will get dragged (neck surely broken) but if you want to have a real "cut off" you must utilise the waggons, not the leading axle.

The device is called a pilot, commonly known as cowcatcher.

I wondered if I layed neck very flat and head after the rail, so lower, and press it as hard as can to ground, could I slide under the hellish device?

I won't know until I inspect some locomotives up close.
I watched an interview with train drivers specifically about suicides, and one said that clean decapitation happened to him (I mean he was the executor).

Example picture. If you zoom in, it seems very possible to fit just the neck.
