Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I guess many on here would say so called "generative artifical intelligence". My friends would probably say that.

I am not sure what I would choose. I can see how generative articifical intelligence ruins the internet. And the internet is a very important coping mechanism for me.
I think deep fake videos and pictures would be something that I could agree on banning.

You know nuclear weapons have some purpose. The cold war would have escalated a lot more presumably if there would not have been MAD (mutual assured destruction).
But explain that to the people from Nagasaki and Hiroshima that nuclear weapons had positive sides too.

Most technologies can be abused and were abused.

Something I would not eradicate electricity. Lol. However, very likely no one on here would exist if humans didn't invent electricity. The population would be probably a lot smaller. And you don't have to be Ted Kaczynski to see that the way how humans live in modern societies is sort of alienating.

I was at church today, just because I didn't know what to do, and I realized that even in my church they have surveillance cameras... Man, I was just lighting a little candle...

I'd choose to eradicate one of the most worthless technologies ever made which I think no-one would care if it had ever existed, the Ouya.

idk, the issue is i see the benefit of all tech, but it gets so warped into evil by people. ai could be used for precise surgery but instead its being used to bomb nations, and this has been the case for a long time, but you wouldn't say "yeah get rid of all radiation tech" cause there's people who are getting chemo, or peoples houses powered by nuclear reactors. everything evolves into something we use everyday.

I think that generative AI can do much worse damage than destroying internet or jobs (as bad as that already is): it can add "steroids" to mass surveillance (big data processing / profiling / automatic decision making in regards to persons with the slightest potential for protest/rebellion/organization), to censorship / network filtering (put a stop to all vpns / censorship circumvention tools forever), etc. Defense is not realistic because a regular person, grassroots movement or even a non-multinational company won't have that much computing power for defense that the government will have for offense, and the resources thrown at GenAI make all the difference actually in how smart it is and how long it takes before its results deteriorate. So because of this, GenAI is the one I would like to see gone - there simply isn't a way to defend against its abuse. GenAI is a game-ender in regards to freedom world-wide, I don't believe in machine revolt, but I do believe that it will become a tool that makes surveillance complete and impenetrable. Nuclear power wasn't a game-ender because using it can destroy resources of those who use it, if not people themselves, but GenAI can keep common people enslaved but alive, and can be used to harm the supervised in non-lethal way while not harm the supervisors at all.
