This argument is invalid and completely stupid.

The smart phone replaced over 20 inventions your dumb asses shelled out hundreds of dollars for each.

This has literally 0 to do with wages and the cost of housing or having children and a family.

Every time I hear old people talk I'm reminded of how ignorant and entitled their generation is/was

My health insurance at work doesn't even cover one of my medications, the other one is cheaper with a GoodRX coupon. Employer provided health care is now a scam so Medicare beneficiaries can continue living the good lives they've always had.

WITH health insurance I spend over 250$ a month on medication. My rent and electric is half of my monthly pay. After all my bills are paid I'm left with 300$ for the entire month for groceries and gas.

"But you bought a cell phone with your tax return or the stimulus"

Wtf do these things have to do with the cost of housing being unaffordable even if I saved my small tax return. We can't afford families.

This country is fucking retarded along with the people in it. Want to ctb so fucking badly.

Why weren't boomers riding horses? why were they lazy? Why did they not want to work hard?

Why were they using electricity? Shouldn't they have done everything the difficult way since boomers think they are so virtuous?

Did their generation just not want to work at McDonald's and afford a home? Why did previous generations make fast food popular? Why weren't they at home cooking with all their hard working virtue?

Must be nice to pat yourself on the back for being successful at the same jobs we were doing and acting better than us.

Maybe boomers are just entitled and lazy so that's why they self project onto everyone else.

Why didn't they give up their money to live like us with their virtue? If it was so easy to live like this why didn't they do it? Why wont you do it now out of virtue?

Why will you let it happen to your children and grandchildren just so you can continue to have it easy in your old age now?

When will their generation take responsibility for anything at all really?

I'm just about generation X. One thing I do notice between the generations is- both my Dad and Grandparents didn't seem to expect so much. They were vehemently against loans and credit cards. If you couldn't afford something, you went without.

I don't think it's exactly our 'fault' though. We've been encouraged to want things and feel like we deserve them. Both through advertising and our peers. Plus- if our parents indulged our wants and 'needs' from the start- then, they also played a part in encouraging that behaviour.

The world is also set up these days where it becomes fairly problematic not having a smart phone or at least, access to the internet. My Dad is still fairly technology resistant and he's always complaining about how everyone expects him to have a phone.

It's probably irresponsible to buy a luxury phone if you can't afford it; sure. But everyone needs a cell phone -- at least for emergencies.
But if you have the money, buy whatever phone you want. What you spend your money on is no one else's business.

Phones are excellent investments. Just don't upgrade often. Buy a good phone and keep it for years. I've had my Galaxy Note 9 for seven years now. I'm going to continue having it for at least another three years. i've changed the battery once i'll change the battery once more next year.

Millenials can't fix cars because cars nowadays, don't even disassemble. They are too complex.
Laptops don't even have screws in them.

It's not "kids nowadays". It's "products nowadays".
Or software nowadays. Too complex, too unintuitive. No navigation, just scrolling. Ineffective.

We see time and time again, that great solutions rarely happen in leadership or management.
We sometimes forget how fantastic and innovative we are. And we are not very good at reminding each other.

Solution is to become craftier. Fix things. Make products reusable. This will also help green transitioning.
Modularizing products. Make them compatible/composable/mobile.
I like that people are moving away from expensive difficult graphic user inferfaces to simpler commandline utilities.
Reclaiming their ownership of their clicky lagging "smart products" that are full of trackers and bloat.

As leadership become more dysfunctional and people more dellusional ,we should not mock those people who are different and walk their own path.
By walking your own path , you might lead the way.

We should protect this freedom at all cost.

We should question those in power.
But righ now - it is those in power , that question the powerless.
Those in power , who - right now - have the mic in their hands and runs the show.
Who would say whatever to ring your bells, to make you angier than you allready are.

My smartphone costs me less than $100 every five years or so. It does everything. I own a laptop and that's it for tech. So tech is most certainly not the reason why I, personally, am struggling. Keep in mind that every generation complains about the generation after it. And the complaints are pretty much the same too.

I think it depends on the person. A friend was a teacher in a very deprived area. They would go to visit new students in their homes before school began. In some council homes, the parents would have the huge plasma screen TV, latest mobile phones yet their children would have no toys and dirty cloths. In some cases, priorities are skewed. Which is sort of fine if it only affects them. Not when it affects others though. Plus, of course it's going to irritate someone who's working all hours and still going without, if someone else on benefits say can apparently afford all these things.

I'm terrible with money personally but then, I haven't actually asked for support. I either inherited it or, worked for it. I do have a strong work ethic but then, I lapse in other areas that boomers value. Giving them the opportunity, I would receive long lectures about them.
