I just don't get it. Those people have everything in my eyes. Even just to have one, to be smart or pretty. The reason why I'm ending myself is because I have nothing in life. I'm not pretty, talented or smart. I don't have good parents or friends. There's nothing going for me. My life is pointless. I wake up to stay In bed all day playing a game or watching TV. I really wish I was smart sometimes, or even pretty and artistic. I have nothing in life.

I'm sure you are all of these above you named. Being pretty is a superficial word people use to describe others but the inner beauty is what truly counts the most. I guarantee you if you believed you had all those things and you life up to this point, you would still be here. Why do you feel so bad about yourself? What makes you believe you aren't pretty? I think I'm attractive and you know whats it gotten me? As a child I was SA'd by a family member! It's opened me up to a lot of men but they were so ugly inside! I still cry like everyone else. I've had several failed attempts, and I hate this life! I'm sorry you feel this way. You can always go to the mall and have someone do your make-up. You can buy new clothes and make yourself feel better. We are lucky as women, we can do anything to fix ourselves up if we desire to. If there is something you don't like about your appearance, try fixing it. But, I'm willing to bet your actually beautiful and just don't see it!

The only thing that matters is being pretty.
The others will fall into place, if you're pretty enough.

I can attest, that as a writers who is better than most writers(Proof: https://mikhailmarlowe.wordpress.com/2022/11/06/metempsychosis-transmigration/) , reasonably skilled Game programmer(won't share links due to privacy, but I have posted about my previous work here), and a reasonably okay artist with his own unique style(https://www.artstation.com/ceyloniera) that the main reason I wasn't able to succeed in my fields is because I'm ugly, which led to parental neglect and childhood bullying, which basically made me into psychopath with low impulse control. And IMMENSE brain fog.

Meanwhile, I see people who are far less skilled than me living a better life than I ever could. And it's always due to the fact that the world goes easy on them and even bends over backwards for them because they're unattractive.

I Have been what they call a wiz at school. Every time i learn something, i always deconstruct it and research deeper. You learn things that you wish to forget
Yeah, that has nothing to do with how smart you are. Plenty of people do in-depth research on shit and learn things. Humans are naturally curious creatures. Also, doing well in school =/= being smart. It just means that you did well in school. There are people who are gifted who don't do well in school at all and there are plenty of people with average IQs who do really well in school.

I have always done very well at school and have a career in the sciences, yet here I am. Plenty of pretty, talented, and smart people are miserable and kill themselves. None of those things guarantee happiness.

Being SA'd has nothing to do with attractiveness. Predators choose their victims based on vulnerability, not attractiveness. It's about power for them. This type of rhetoric is just disgusting, as this notion of "pretty = being SA'd" has been used to invalidate the experiences of SA victims who don't meet conventional beauty standards. Get over yourself.

Because life will always find a way to kick you in the balls. Being smart/talented is cool sometimes, but it comes with its own set of drawbacks, especially when you're a kid. Your parents pressure you, your teachers pressure you, and you start to feel like you're never good enough because you can't keep up with the ambitions they've instilled in you. Separating your desires from those of others is problematic when you're in middle school. It also has a negative impact on school socialization, but that wasn't the only problem. And voila, welcome to depression at 15.

And just when, after several years of effort, you get your shit together, boom, your chronic illness flares up and now you're going to go blind in the next few years, for no reason, and there's not a single fucking thing you can do about it, simply because that's how this reality works — some things happen just because fuck you. I'd be willing to be talentless and as disgusting as pile of shit for a pair of fancy working eyes, but no one is offering me a trade.

So that's how you can be smart (and pretty + humble) and want to die at the same time.

Also, may I ask why it's so important for you to be smart? Most people are somewhere between slightly below average and slightly above average and feel fine. Even at the universities I attended, there weren't that many really smart people. I think average intelligence is enough to study anything, unless you want to do groundbreaking research on your own.

I grew up in the 70s and early 80s in the UK
Cosmetic surgery was rare
Now it's everywhere
Being unattractive wasn't the end of the world back then
Unattractive people in relationships was common and barely noticed
It now feels like everything's been reduced to instinct
People feel that only a pretty face will assure success
And given that society hates unattractive people who can argue with that?
I don't know how this horrible situation came about but I now feel that living as an unattractive person is a fate worse than death
Meanwhile, I see people who are far less skilled than me living a better life than I ever could. And it's always due to the fact that the world goes easy on them and even bends over backwards for them because they're unattractive.
Do you mean attractive ???

Everyone seems to be overly obsessed with beauty in today's society. People who deemed attractive do seem to get extra points in life based on their appearance. What's inside doesn't always seem to matter. I'm not sure what my talent is, but I could understand the beliefs that if one is attractive with a talent would mean their life would be better. Unfortunately, everyone will deal with difficult trials and tribulations. How we handle those are dependent upon appearance and talents. This site is filled with both types of people. There are so many cases of suicide by famous people who appear to have it all and we wonder why? I'm thankful these type of sites exist so we all have somewhere to safely vent and encourage each other.

Unfortunately the grass is always greener on the other side. When I was a kid I used to wish to be pretty and smart and more skilled at art. Even though I gained enough confidence to where I'd consider myself attractive, kinda smart and skilled enough at art, with the lack of a supportive community around you (shity parents and no friends) these qualities won't stop the misery and illness that being alone, rejected and unsupported will bring... But I understand and everyday remember the pain that comes along with not having confidence in yourself,( not liking your looks or feeling slow mentally and incapable of shit.) I was only able to gain this confidence bc of the support of friends and professionals... and now lacking that support... confidence is hard to keep up when we are clearly living so terribly...
