It is definitely lethal in extremely high dosages, which is one of the reasons the older tricyclic antidepressants have been largely replaced with the ssri's.
Amitriptyline isn't lethal. I took 30 of them and went to bed to hopefully die, but woke up the next day. Yes, I felt totally drugged and remember walking up the stairs, banging from side to side all the way up... and I slept through most of the next day, but I'm still here.
There's a fallacy of logic, I can't remember what it's called, that personal experience equates to universal experience. Some people take 1g of SN and die, most don't. Doesn't mean SN isn't lethal, or that 1g of SN isn't lethal.
