Hi, I'm new here and I desperately need a friend who I can talk to.
I've always been shy and introverted, so tend to isolate myself. My abilities to interact and make connections with others aren't very good :(
When I was younger, this didn't bother me much, but now that I grew up, I realized that having no one to rely on can be painful, especially when you need someone's help or advice.
So if you're interested, ask me abt my discord username, and we can chat together about anything you're comfortable with and help each other if we need to! :)

I thought I saw a link to the discord server earlier but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone have it? I also need someone to talk to badly. I am going down a very dark tunnel. I sometimes feel I simply can't breathe and will have a meltdown. I'm constantly conflicted between what I want and what I should be doing, nothing illegal. Can anyone relate?

Free, libre alternatives to discord for voice chat are
1) GNU Jami: https://jami.net/ ,
2) Tox: https://tox.chat/ ,
3) Mumble: https://www.mumble.info/ ,
4) Jitsi: https://jitsi.org/ (Jitsi is really cool. Many features.).

The first two are peer-to-peer solutions, so knowledge about server configuration are not required. It would be nice if sasu offered to host one of the server-required solutions for users. It seems not uncommon in chat to see people asking others to join a discord group for voice chat. Discord is a for-profit enterprise. Last year they had $575 million in reported revenue. Subjects this site talk about are against their ToS anyway.

I've lost my voice at the moment. But I'd like to practice talking to others when it recovers, but I'm stubborn and will only do it with libre software.

Are other users open to using not-discord?
