Hello SS. I'm heavily considering the SN method right now, but I don't know how to responsibly die without harming strangers or wildlife. I know I'm going to drive to a faraway town before CTB ... but if I kill myself in a hotel room I'd traumatize the cleaners who find my body, and if I kill myself in the wilderness or on the side of the road I'm worried about wild animals ingesting lingering SN in my body and dying from it.

(Obviously this would emotionally traumatize the few people close to me, but it should be equally obvious that I don't care about that anymore. But involving a stranger feels unethical, you know? They were blameless, they had nothing to do with my life, and I'd like to keep it that way. Clean exit.)

EDIT: On a related note we have cats in the house, and I don't want them getting into my SN supply, both cause it'd give away my plans and also cause it'd just be mean to the cats. I think I'll store it in a ziploc bag, then put the bag in a purse that's suspended off the ground so they can't get to it (purse is on a coathook rn) but if people have any better suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.

you say traumatise a stranger but im not so sure that would necessarily be the case as they dont know you

for example if i went for a walk now and there was someone dead on the side of the road i dont think i would be upset or anything, i would call the police and wait there. that said though i suppose for children it could be traumatic though to find a dead body

I mean I'd be a little traumatized by finding a dead body, especially one dead by suicide. I'm told that the final moments of the SN method are a fair amount of vomiting and skin turning blue due to lack of oxygen. And when someone dies they shit themselves (the muscles which clench the bowels relax, so, literally shitting yourself) and I can't imagine the smell of rotting flesh, stale blood, and shit is all that pleasant. It's a thing that would stick with someone for a while, I think. It's not PTSD capital-T-Trauma, but it would really stick with someone for a while, I think. Hard to forget.

You could envelop yourself in a waterproof BioHazard body bag that you could buy on Amazon and just tuck yourself in there in a sleeping bag. Sign a consent form to donate your body for science as an anatomical specimen. There's one company called ScienceCares, and a few others through a few other universities where they'll take your corpse and use it as a specimen for medical schools or in some cases as a dead human crash test dummy for vehicle safety or ballistics testing.

Schedule emails to send.
I don't have any more info about that unfortunately, but you can find more from search engines (duckduckgo, google)

IIRC, there might even have been a stickied thread about scheluding. Surely there will be when we first study this subject more:)

In a hotel room, with a tarp draped over yourself, like a full body blanket, and a huge, unmistakable note on it. Dead inside. Then the person finding you pretty much consents to seeing what's underneath. And maybe weight the corners or edges so you don't involuntarily mess with it too much. Or a fitted sheet might work even better at staying in place.

Try to find a small inhabited island. You can buy a boat to get there. You need more planning and money than doing it in your bed or in a hotel but nobody, humans or animals, would be hurt. You will go in the missing person files.
