Like i want to film myself but how can i do it i want to livestream but i really dont want this to go really viral tbh because if you livestream doing something like this on tiktok,facebook etc it would probably get taken down really fast and it would go on the news etc

so is there anywhere i can film myself and it will stay up i want this to help people thinking of taking SN

I don't think there's a way to do it with livestreaming the way you envision it. I remember one guy, he seemed pretty tech savvy, who managed to film himself and posted it up on a WeTransfer or Google Space where people could download it. I have no idea how he did it, but it seems like circumvented any streaming services while doing it.

Live streaming could be difficult indeed, unless you host your own software for doing it (Owncast most likely). However, I suppose you could use software that records for a set duration of so many hours, then stops and saves the result to a prenamed file, then invokes another utility to upload it to a service of your choosing, selfhosted or not. Likely you would want to use a shell script to achieve this. - Quelenna

I would believe it's to give more insight on sn death and material for documentation

Once you post something online or host a livestream you have zero control of how far and wide it will spread. If you're concerned about it going viral then I wouldn't film it at all. Can I ask I why you want to film it? It's something I don't really understand but I've heard others mention doing the same on the forum.

Well, Owncast already does exactly that, so I believe there is little reason to write one yourself? Unless it lacks some feature you wanted, or you wanted something more minimalistic or so. But the point of Owncast is that you can selfhost it, and it only runs one stream at a time. - Quelenna

It doesn't mater, if you exhibit, any suffering from sn this site will delete or lock the thread. (But opening a new thread without searching is good SEO.) The mods love removing / locking Joe Winko videos and threads, that should be a huge red flag to everyone thinking about using this method.

It was the locking of Joe Winko videos threads and straight deleting the GHB mega thread that made me come to the conclusion that these threads hurt someone's bottom line and they had to be stopped. Derp derp derp "the author of the GHB thread, requested it to be deleted" at that point got too big and too helpful . They could just remove all mention of the author. Nope gone. Joe Winko , didn't look like he was going out to peacefully. Boooooom locked. Sure he may have not been following protocol, but the thread should be left open. That probably upset DSL / < insert random letters here> though.

I get that but… I've seen four different SN videos, and they were all pretty similar, and so at least four of them are out there already. Harder to see the benefit when those already exist.

yeah ive thought of streaming mine to help others, but after seeing comments on other peoples videos i dont think i want any video/photos of me dying online lol

It shocks me to see people making fun of them and being rude on videos like that i mostly see that on WPD

If you stream it to some nice people here, they won't post it anywhere or even record it, they will just describe it in a thread. But ofc I agree you can never be 100% sure, even if I don't see the reason why ppl would share it there. It must just stay in the hands of few ppl.
