I've come to the conclusion that no matter how much you think about it or try to rationalize it the fear of death will always kick in when you are about to CTB.

A lot of people here have said that they don't fear death and find it peaceful. I thought the same, but the moment my mind really does go to thinking about CTB and the reality of it, I get really scared. It's an existential fear that I can't get over.

At the same time I also really truly want to CTB. I can't stand my mentally ill brain. I just can't, it's just so much suffering and I can't find any peace.

Do you guys think alcohol or benzos would remove SI to the point that I can make that final decision to hang?

They may help a little, but probably the only thing that will get you over the line is wanting it badly enough.

You can´t achieve anything without removing fear. You can´t achieve anything without bravery.

A lot of threads about overcoming SI. The minute you have time to think is the minute it appears.
The solution is simple. Don't give yourself time to think. Just decide on what you want to do and carry it out like a machine. No thought. Just action. But few are capable of this.

I believe we have to really want CTB more than anything else.

Most of us here are probably not really sure else we'd be gone.

If we really want to tackle the SI, it is tempting to basically mess up things so bad that it becomes easier. Quit job, gamble all money away etc. Not good ideas unless you are 100% sure though.
