So, since there have been a sizable number of answers (48), I thought I'd compile them to make it a bit more readable :

28 here and I don't plan to live into old age, mainly due to health reasons, loss of dignity and agency, and of course, by mid-age, I've pretty much already experienced 99% of what the world has to offer and don't have interest to stay longer and see the decline of society as well as my health.

I have been my entire life. I have no memory of not being this way, nothing I've done to change it has worked.
I don't have a shitty life; I'm fortunate and thankful for that.
I feel guilty because I'm wasting it. My family is loving, I have a wonderful husband, a precious daughter...and still even in the "happiest moments of my life" I am plagued with thoughts about killing myself. There's more to it than just those thoughts, I overthink about everything so my mind is constantly going a hundred miles a second.
There's no relief for me. I feel so disconnected and numb all the time—I don't feel like a person.
There's no solid answer I can give you as to why I am. I don't actually know, but this has been my entire life.
I've been obsessed with death and wanting to be dead even as a child as young as 5 (I suspect younger, but that's as far back as I can vividly remember). My first thoughts on how to actually kill myself were around 8 or 9.
Everything can be right and happy in your life, but somehow you can still be so desperate not to live it.

Twice.
Once at 16 and again at 23.
Failure has only made how I feel infinitely worse. It's the most hollow, sinking, panicked feeling I've ever felt. It was like I was drowning. I still am.

I know, it's crazy. But it's actually not surprising to me. My family has a huge history of heart issues on both sides. My cousin just passed away at 36 from an enlarged heart. My grandpa's brother died at 17 from a heart attack.

I thought if I didn't smoke or drink I'd be safe from it, but I guess not!

I'm also sad to see all the young folk. I won't preach at you, but I also want to say to you young people especially the 22 and under, don't look at us older people on here and see your future. I know people who wanted to die or attempted in their teens and are quite happy now. Just because many people on here wanted to die since a young age, doesn't mean you will be just like us. You could be, I can't deny that. But it is not at all guaranteed.

34. Husband died suddenly at the end of January. Nothing more to live for. I had the gun in my mouth tonight, not sure why I didn't pull the trigger. Unfinished business I guess.
