Mine with mom is complicated. She's the biggest source of my trauma and cptsd growing up. But for the last 2 years she has changed alot and she started to seeing me for who I am. I'm very glad we get to reconcile while both of us are still alive and healthy, but gosh we wasted so many days, and I'm talking about 20 something years of me being abused by her and my dad. I forgive both of them, but the damages can't be undo.

I know it's better late than never, but I kept wondering if I'd be capable of happy had she realized sooner and not abused me? I know she's gonna blame herself if I ctb so I'm waiting for her to pass first. She does worried about my mental state and tries her best to keep me alive, such as financially support me and not put any pressure on my life. My dad is insignificant, he's just physically there and nothing more.

I'm curious how is your relationship with your parents?
My mom is bipolar and used to be insane and pretty abusive to my dad (not to us kids though). She's since attemped suicide and got on antipsychotics. She's super chill now and we (mostly my dad) take care of her since she cannot work. Overall my relationship with her is pretty good.

I was my mother's verbal, emotional, and physical punching bag.
If I wasn't so suicidal I would actually choose to live, just so I can enthusiastically watch her die on her deathbed.

Mom's the best (mostly) I do have some beef with her however, mainly cause she plays too much as the victim, all the time, so much so that she took pleasure in this stupid role that no one but herself made her play. That being said she was a good a mom to me, and one of the very few people I find myself missing from time to time, she also doesn't really give that many fucks about me which in my opinion is really cool, I hate people being way too concerned over me, it feels like an invasion of privacy. My dad is where shit gets very bad, although if you saw us today you'd think totally normal, it isn't, he behaved very fucking shady during my childhood, he has HIGH degree narcissism which sometimes makes me pity him, especially when he accuses me of random shit, and says stuff like "You doing this random thing is actually a sign you HATE ME" like first of all I do hate you to some extent and second of all it has nothing to do with what random thing I just did. He wasn't the beating guy but more like the verbal abuse guy, and it was very very bad. Regarding whether he gave me trauma or not, I find my brain to be very good at erasing everything, I don't know what highschool was about and neither my childhood, I sometimes feel as if I was born straight in uni, even tho if you ask me to remember I will be able to, it's not something I ever do. Nowadays I am way more mean to him than he is to me, and since my mom and dad divorced he lost all power cause I can just choose my mom, this should be something I need to remember, he didn't change, things around him did instead

My parents didn't give me enough attention as a child, so yeah I do have "mommy issues".

When I was a child, my mom had undiagnosed depression for years. She was suicidal too and I heard a lot of stuff as a child.
She was often very stressed, because everything was going wrong in our household.

And I just have a few sentences stuck in my head that she said to me when I was a teenager. She said she wouldn't get a kid if she knew the kid would turn out like me.

Now she's better and my relationship with her is fine.

I just don't talk much with her and she doesn't really remember anything from my childhood and that makes me sad sometimes.

my mom has abused me from before i was even born because she was drinking during college and i turned out really autistic and disabled, one of my twins didn't even make it.

she's still abusive. i just turned 30 and she is still abusive, but i escaped just two days ago on my birthday. i have a lot of anxiety. like, im moving units and i dont think my partner will be there and so its just. a lot.

one time, i visited my grandma and it felt safe until i kinda just was anxious for nothing, that trauma stays with you. even if you have escaped.

im on borrowed time, though. i used all of my savings for this escape and took all my stuff but i dont think i wanna go back, i miss my bed and my pc and my ac and my fan but come on. can i really rent a place jobless? she never allowed me to even try. to become someone.

so im here, until august 31 to try to kill myself, funnily enough though — that's my moms birthday. so if i show up it means i surrender to the pathetic neet life or be brave enough to smoke all the cigarettes i want before it all ends.

Horrible. My mother enables my father's abuse and avoids getting involved because "It's between me and him".
She has stated multiple times that she doesn't like me and basically often calls me a retard, saying I'm a child compared to my peers.
She blames me for being born into this family, believing that kids choose their parents before they are born lmao.
She lives in her own fantasy and denial.
Said she didn't like me but she loved me.
I've been told exactly that by my own mother. I don't know why they would ever think it's okay to say that to your own child.

Deep down I love my mom so much and if she were to pass I would have to immediately take my life too. Although, I've been heartbroken by her words sometimes, selective empathy, and hypocrisy, I love her so much.

As a kid she would chase me down to "discipline" me and I felt like I couldn't love her fully because I despised how she treated me and humiliated me in public. I hated how she made me feel dumb for not understanding concepts from school as a kid being undiagnosed with ADHD in a way was traumatic. I was seen as dramatic and rude because of my sensory issues and unwillingness to go or do something which was my anxiety but at the time wasn't understood. Today, we have come a long way and made progress, but I still find myself being misunderstood and in a way feeling neglected.

My father never scared me much as a kid as my mother was the one to do the "discipling" but he would engage as a final act if I didn't behave. My dad is just some slow guy who has cause me embarrassment and seems more like a child than an adult, I should be kinder I must admit. I don't really pay much attention to him and he's just an old man. Although, I've been told that as a child, I would cry if I was away from my father's arms. Don't know what to feel about him. Maybe that stroke got him mixed in the head or old age. Dunno, after all he's like 50? I kinda feel bad talking about him this way. I'm not sure. I don't hate him for sure, but I don't necessarily love him the way I love my mom.

I dont really tell mine really anything. They dont even really realise it and just think that everything is okay and that I just have nothing to say.
