Based on my family and extended family's educational experiences, I am not educated, smart, or intelligent enough for them.

I finished my GED.

I then failed junior college (not smart enough, not intelligent enough).

I have no marketable skills and currently no means to correct the situation.

After all that, and then some, my mental health really started to decline.

I am seen as a disappointment and loser by my family. I am ostracized as a black sheep.

Interesting question! As far as formal education goes I finished my bachelor's in 2016 and basically worked retail since :/ I recently got a work from home job essentially doing state reporting that I won't elaborate on as I like to remain relatively unidentifiable online. I wish everyone could work from their home (who wanted to) as I do not miss anything about retail working, what a nightmare!

How educated am I?

Not nearly enough.

(It's embarrassing to be any less vague.)

That's what happens when you are bullied to the degree you have to leave your schooling institution behind, and far too early..to the point where your most significant accomplishment is landing yourself in yet another category which is commonly devalued, belittled and discriminated against.
It's a domino effect.

(I see several people took the opportunity of this thread to humble-brag…or maybe just the second part.)

I graduated high school with honors. I went to university for about five years, but I was (am) too messed up to even get my bachelor's; it was just one crisis after another and I only ever got worse. I'm severely disabled and am completely unable to work, despite having tried for years and being put through hell by the system for being disabled and having the audacity to ask for medical and financial assistance.

I'm a native English speaker and I'm fluent in German and Swedish. Used to also be fluent in Spanish and Japanese but my cognition is in the shitter and I haven't had to use them very often, but I understand everything I read/hear. I can get by with French, Hebrew and Czech. I can also read and write Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic and Persian, but (aside from some common slavic words from the first two that are similar to those in Czech) I have no idea what the words actually mean.

I'd have a lot of potential if I weren't so ill and fucked up. I've done a lot of grieving over the years.
I believe many here could relate for having had to grieve over the person they were or the person they could have been, the life lost..it's like showing up at your own funeral whilst alive, day in and day out, and you're the only one in attendance.

I graduated high school and went to college for a few semesters, until I dropped out, so academically speaking, I 'm still at the bottom of the totem pole. Regardless, I feel like I'm still fairly educated in regards to things I'm interested in.

I'm not sure anyone needs to be taught by educational institutions looking to make money off of you, to be educated though. Most of us can learn things on our own, just by researching things we find interesting, and using critical thinking when necessary, to avoid being misinformed as much as possible.

Btw, there was a supposed professor on here awhile back. I'm sure there have been more since, considering that (if I recall correctly) was around when I first signed up.

If that's the bottom, then I'm underground.

I think you are getting biased answers to your question. Most members here prefer to not reveal their real identity. Now, if you say: "I am a highschool dropout.", this is not an issue for being identified, not by googling, neither by someone you know accidentally coming across this thread. However, if the answer is: "I hold two PhDs, one in neuroscience and one in legal studies.", this might feel like a lot of identifying information, especially combined with information from your other posts, so I think you are getting fewer of these answers than your population sample holds.

Also, some fields get unpleasant answers if mentioned. There was a therapist a while ago, already meantioned in this thread, who revealed his profession because it was central to his pain, a coworker and friend of his had lost his license for suicidality. He got a lot of "Oh, excellent, you can now fix us all!", which is just added pressure, rather than the comiseration and other comforting things people get here while they do not mention their education or field.

I believe many here could relate for having had to grieve over the person they were or the person they could have been, the life lost..it's like showing up at your own funeral whilst alive, day in and day out, and you're the only one in attendance.
Can relate. It hurts to watch the potential I could not leverage just rot and decay.

Some college but never completed due to life. I had severe add/adhd as a kid that made school difficult but I forced myself to maintain A's so I can stay in my friend group who easily made it to honors and AP classes. They always let me know I was stupid but it just takes me longer to learn some things:,)

Bachelors in Criminology. I wanted to go for a masters before I took the decision to end my miserable existence. I love studying so I could never limit myself to just one field so I like reading different things. I speak English as my second language since I moved to America when I was 8y. I speak another language which is my native one.

I got my associates degree a couple of years ago. I wanted to go back for my bachelor's, but idk if it's possible because of my cognitive issues and other mental health issues. My IQ is average, but my issues make me feel extremely unintelligent

Never found it to be worth it to go into debt over a piece of paper - education should be free. And if it was, I'd consider pursuing a degree. And with how stuck up the teachers are, it have to be worth my time.

Halfway through an applied mathematics degree, not sure if I will be able stay alive until I finish. It's what I like so hopefully I can.

I think many subjects come with a curriculum that was cobbled together for the sake of getting passed red tape and generally only exist for the income generated by the fees they cost. I'm all for learning and education. I love it but when things become privatised/monetised they inevitably loose their initial drivibg force. Often becoming facades.
