I don't cope with loneliness well at all.. Most days i lock myself in my room and shut the world out, because being around crowds makes me feel more isolated than being at home by myself

I watch movies, play games, exercise, anything to keep my mind off the dark lonely thoughts. Some times it works other days the isolation hits like a truck.

Talking and interacting with people on here helps a lot

i just try not to notice it and keep myself distracted and busy with stuff these days.

most people these days are either too busy, have found their people to be interested in you (even if platonically), or just don't care.

though every now and then i still visit this place and other places and talk here and there with people. see if it does something.

for real. emptiness, loneliness, and add a disturbed image of self and personality and here you have it: the void of existence. what a combo. im sorry so many have to deal with that but at least we've got each other's back

For me, I just trick myself into thinking I'm not lonely for short bursts of time. Playing online games or vc-ing / texting online really helps me when I feel too lonely. This of course, isn't a permanent solution, as the fun always stops at some point. Just gotta get over the boring stuff and get back to the fun.

While I do get lonely I am also comfortable with my own company but I do belong to social groups and attend events from walks to foreign holidays with others that fill the gap of not having a partner to some degree.
When I was first divorced I jumped into many ill-judged relationship which were worse than being on my own.

I think I got desensitized to it at an early age, so it does not affect me frequently.

When I do feel empty and lonely, I go to forums where I can talk with like-minded people without needing to wear a mask.

I believe it's comparable to the discussions found in 'venting' threads. When people vent, they often seek understanding rather than a solution. Similarly, certain songs resonate with the emotions of loneliness, mirroring the feelings of the listener. However, it is not a universal principle, just my observation...

I feel like I should be able to help with this because I've lived as a hermit for over a decade, often not speaking to another human for 12 months at a time, and never really felt loneliness to any significant degree. Quite the contrary, it was the times I had to see and communicate with people that I wanted to avoid.

So I feel like I have the answer to not feeling lonely while more isolated than most people will ever be. But can't relate to the problem. Because I never felt lonely to any significant degree. Why I don't really know. I scratch the occasional social itches mostly online. I still talk to myself out loud. But mostly I know that I've been with people in the past and enjoyed it far less. It tires me out very quickly being with people. I'm far more energised alone.

I've been more and more empty lately. I just come on to SS and play mp games like Call of Duty or another game to deal with it. I don't mind the loneliness but the isolation and loneliness affect me at times.

I'm not really alone as I have a partner I love very much. But I'm shutting myself down at the moment and we no longer do things together as we used to. I have a friend who lives one hour from my home but I just couldn't see her today as I was clearly unable to get out of my bed. I keep youtube on in the background to try and keep my sanity. Its not enough though but its better than nothing for now.

I felt lonely my whole life, things got a little better once I had a relationship with someone I cared for, but now that things are over I feel worst then ever. Due to circunstances I had to leave my apartment and go to my father's house, which is in a bad neiberhood.

I remember feeling very lonely living alone, but also living with someone I don't really enjoy the company can be even worst.

My coping mechanisms aren´t working anymore. Music won't make me feel alive. Can't play a video game for more than 10 minutes without feeling bored. My comfort tv shows aren't conforting me. Exercise is ok for a couple of hours. The only thing I do is work and work and work, until it's time to sleep, the only moment of the day where I'm at peace.

Bought a book a couple days ago (The way of kings by Brandon Sanderson). Seems interesting and I want to see if that gives me back my love for reading.

I sleep as much as possible! The meds I'm on have this weird side effect that makes me sleep and I can take it 3 tines a day. On my bad days I'll put a bottle water and my pills next to my bed and as soon as I wake up I take them again. Sleeping saves me from obsessing over another attempt or crying all day. I also go on free dating sites, not that I plan to meet anyone but it's nice to talk to people and try to convince then you're perfectly fine lol
