@Cevapcici I admire your awareness and ethics.

Here are some books I recommended in this thread, especially Boundaries:

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/resources-for-learning-boundaries.30500/

I would also add the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. Lots of good stuff about personal integrity and how to be responsible to others while maintaining boundaries. He is the only leader I have ever almost completely respected.

I recognize I just tried to help fix something you didn't ask for help on. Please forgive. I have very few things in my life I can do to aid anyone. Leaves me jumping at the chance which is also annoying.
Hey Dystopic_Momento, I posted this so people could share their experiences and thoughts with me. It doesn't matter if I asked for your help or not - what matters is that you actually took time out of your life and invested energy (whilst facing your own serious issues) to research and share some potentially helpful resources with me - and explain some things about the options I'd have in the mental health system of your country , and I'm immensely grateful for it.

So no, you're not some annoying grandma who just gave me unsolicited advice for my acne while queuing at the mall lol, you're someone who comforts me and gives me strings to pull to better my quality of life.

I live in Europe and, well... In my country shit can get out of hand real quick when it comes to psychiatry, we had cases of children dying of cancer and Lyme disease in psychiatric hospitals after being misdiagnosed with " conversion disorder" - best scenario is they grow pills at you. And yeah , unfortunately it's not as easy to sue a doctor here as it is in the US - so I've decided for myself I just don't have time for psychiatry. As for psychologists - they're probably less dangerous but out of my financial reach, so I guess il probably stick to new age books about mediation for a while :p

I'm scared too. So many of us are scared of the people we've become, but some embrace it. I suppose it depends on who you talk to. I think that reclusivity is something that a lot of people go through before they CTB. It's really awful and sad to listen to and see. Right now, I only have one online friend that checks up on me, and only one friend in person that wants to check up on me. It's honestly soul crushing, because what am I supposed to say? I usually say I'm sick. I usually say I'm tired. They both know vaguely what's going on, but if they knew I was on this website, they would probably report me. Because that's kind of what happens. It depends on who they are and who you are. There can be conversations and ways to fix it, but if you're conversating on how to fix it, are you even really suicidal at all? I'm not too certain. I usually say I'm OK. I usually say that I'm working through it. But everytime my one friend comes over, it's just me being depressing and emotionless. I know how you feel. I don't like who I've become either, or at least, what's locked me away from being the better person I think I can be... but is lost.

Wow thank you. :)

I felt exactly like an annoying busy body grandma for a bit. Feeling better now. Ha!

I had no idea about Europe's psychiatric care, that's scary. It's difficult to sue doctors in the US too if you can't afford a lawyer. Also hospitals and mental health facilities will hide your records until a statute of limitations is met and other doctors will cover for ones who commit medical malpractice if they're connected to the same hospital group. And "doctoring" records is a lot more common than people admit. We also have doctors and psychiatrists who are paid by pharma companies to prescribe their drugs over others, to the point they'll use you as a guinea pig.

Those poor kids. I hadn't ever heard of conversion disorder before this.

Those were great links you provided. All would help with self-respect and -confidence. I myself have used the one forward head tilt, there's a great floor exercise for the thoracic spine.

I don't think I'm annoying because I try to go out of my way not to bother anybody.

I must have attempted suicide a dozen times (this was before the internet so I didn't know what the hell I was doing), and I've never even been to a mental hospital. The reason why is because nobody knew what I was doing. I didn't make a big production of it, I just got it on.

But for the last 18 years I've been seeing therapists and psychiatrists. There came a point where I knew I needed help. Turns out I was Bipolar along with a few other things. Not that it's really helped, but still.

I don't know. Maybe if I'd been a little annoying years ago when I 1st attempted suicide (age 12) I would have got help at a more impressionable age and I wouldn't be lurking on SS so much now.

Of course it has. It's easy enough to perform meaningless small talk with someone but once you start going deeper and they find out just how deep into the misery you are they don't want to surround themselves with that negativity. Largely people live trying to chase some kind of happiness in life, they don't want to be around someone with a different idea, especially not one that's about dying instead.

The only people that I've been able to talk to deeply without either losing interest have been in similar situations as me, can't relate to the suffering if you're not suffering yourself.
