• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Should I write a goodbye letter? I'm not sure if I'd even affect most of the people around me, and I don't know if I want to put my mind towards writing something that people might not even see.

(If yes, what sort of things might one say? (does this include dark jokes?))

Say what you need to say. Mostly that you love your family and why you carried this out

I say sure, why not? I'd just speak from the heart and say whatever it is that you think needs saying. Personally, though, if there are people that did you wrong of any kind, I'd stay away from calling them out in the letter. Of course, that's up to you. To me, I think I'd want to go out on a "positive" vibe.

From my understanding, suicide notes are a very personal choice whether to leave one or not. If you honestly, and truthfully, cannot find a reason to write one then I would say not to.

If you do want to write one but don't know what to write down, I would say to keep it short and brief. A single paragraph, maybe? Just for anyone in your life you think would care.

I am debating this too but dont think I will. if you fail it will be used against you and doubtful in my case i'd be believed over the reasoning anyway
good point! i thought that if i did leave a goodbye letter, i would probably place in somewhere that only a few people know about (my current choice would probably the (depressing) journal that my friend and i write in everyday)

I don't know. No one is going to care. I am going to be considerate enough to write an apology letter to the person who finds me. I don't want them to be too traumatized.

It's up to you, it's a completely personal decision whether to write one or not, I would see it as being beneficial personally as it could mean that those left behind are less likely to be left with as many unanswered questions, at least to me it's better than leaving nothing at all.
