I can't stop thinking about this thread. He's gone now but it's shocking how someone so well spoken could be pushed to the point of taking their life.

Since acid is already a concern/issue with this method, and we are already taking an antacid to control that, then the absolute last thing we would want to do in this situation is to purposely do something that will cause even more stomach acid. If you're trying to limit something as much as possible, you don't do something that will cause the opposite.

Here's an analogy…your roommate (or sibling, whatever) is playing your least favorite kind of music… LOUD. You get a headache. You take some Tylenol & tell them you just took a Tylenol because you have a headache, and you ask them to turn the music down. But then, instead of turning the music down, they turn it UP, they blast it! When you ask "why did you turn it up? I just told you I have a headache!" They look at you & say, "but you just took some Tylenol, what's the problem if I turn the music up even more?" There you go, same thing.
