I'm worried about that too. And I completely understand why you wouldn't want people to assume wrong things about you, it's very important for me too. Unfortunately I have no answer. Probably the only sure way, as far as I can think for now, to make sure they know it's a suicide is to leave a note but if you don't want to do that(me neither) then I guess our only option might be to just hope they will realize it was a suicide.

I read up on hanging, and I found that under certain circumstances, a quirky thing can happen : your private parts bulge after you hang yourself, and one ends up dead, suspended, and with a hard-on.

And if one hangs oneself without suspending themselves from the ceiling (there are other ways, like for example the death of comedian Robin Williams) it is possible that the coroner could write your death off as an autoerotic asphyxiation. Michael Hutchence of the rock band INXS ctb this way and for a short while some had suspected he accidentally passed via auto-erotic, but ultimately it was ruled as a suicide.

I do understand the concept that when one has passed, that it's over, but somehow it would be bothersome to me to have an incorrect conclusion about my final act. I'm also not one to leave a suicide note niether.

So this is something to consider with regards to ctb by hanging.

Pathologists and coroners are well aware of the potential for post-mortem erections to occur with hanging. The presence of this would not in any way lead to a presumption of autoerotic asphyxiation. A wide variety of contextual evidence is used to establish the cause and circumstances of a death. For autoerotic asphyxiation, this could include partial or full nudity, the presence of pornography, positioning with items to aid comfort, existing ligature marks on the neck, a past history of that sexual behaviour or equivalents with a partner, and the absence of any suicide note or reported suicidal ideation.
