• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Yes, two people. My friend's foster child (fully grown adult at the time) lost custody of his child due to drug addiction and the other one was the parent of a couple of neighborhood teenagers. No idea why he did it. I'm assuming depression. Same as most of us on this website.

My best friend/past boyfriend tried to hang himself and then resorted to his gun when it didn't go as he'd hoped. And my current partner's best friend and step dad both shot themselves

Last time the stats were compiled (2023) 27,000 people in the US CTB using a firearm. I only wish I had the strength they did. If I did I would have been gone months ago.

I have known many people who killed themselves with a firearm, including some of my relatives, and none of them ever worried about doing it outside the house: many did it while their family members were present in other rooms. My uncle, for example, after a previous suicide attempt by cutting his veins which failed, as he had been saved and still had the bandages shot himself in the cellar of our mountain house, while we relatives and cousins were upstairs. We heard a gunshot, then a second one: he and a friend of his killed themselves one after the other. My uncle had aimed the shotgun more or less above his ear, I don't know about the other man, but when we went downstairs they were both already lifeless.

Damn, that's hardcore. In the second example that I gave in my reply up above, it was the older brother that found the dad's body after he shot himself. I would imagine that kid is going to be really screwed up for the rest of his life.
