Personally, most of my hanging attempts resulted in nothing besides a rope burn, but I've been thinking about starting to try hanging methods again. I just want to know if anyone has any story's about hanging (good and bad). Or if there's any info that I should know before I do my next attempt. Idk I'm just curious to hear what other peoples attempts were like.

i've only had bad experiences with partial hanging. I've heard that the pain in hanging is supposed to be minimal, but every time i do it it's uncomfortable and hurts my neck / severe headache for the rest of the week. However i think if you get it right, there should be minimal to no pain. Also, i suggest putting vaseline around the rope/neck to avoid rope burns..
Wishing you the best, take care of yourself

From all the experiences ive read, i do begin to wonder if peoples bodies dont have react differently in a variety of ways and maybe its just not for everyone?

rope burn,

hurts my neck /

rope burn/bruises o

Is this about partial?

I had the same problem, but ever since I use a thin scarf as a base layer with thin folded socks on my carotids, it's been surprisingly comfy. It even helped me hit the carotids consistently instead of hitting the jugular for some reason. I feel faint/numb/tingly the second I lean down into the rope.

Not sure if that would help or hinder full suspension, though.
Sorry for this. You can find the corotid?

I couldn't find it with my hands, but with the help of my above method, I tried putting the rope on several spots on my neck. Each person is different. For me, it's just above the adam's apple, but it could be lower or higher for you. It's higher for most people.

It happened years ago. I was in college, in my dorm room.

No planning went into it. I looked in the closet, saw the closet rod, saw a necktie and proceeded to fasten the necktie around my neck with one knot and tied around the closet rod with another knot.

Then I let my legs go limp. I remember the tightness around my neck, it wasn't painful, it was strangely comforting. As I was losing consciousness I didn't try to stand.

The next thing I remember was waking up on the floor. Half the necktie was still around my neck. It had snapped in the middle. My pants were wet with urine. I removed the tie, undressed and got into the shower, dressed, went downstairs and threw the pieces of the tie into the dumpster.

Then I headed to the student union to call my best friend. I just wanted to hear her voice. I was a bit freaked out over what had just happened.

I've never told anyone about this. Nor have I made a real attempt again though I cannot stop thinking about it.

I realized that I was still alive only by chance.
