I kinda believe that our existence is some kind of test and commiting suicide may come with some huge consequances in the afterlife or whatever next is after death.

I believe that once we die we simply cease existing, death is nothing more than an eternal and dreamless sleep where all is forgotten about which is why the thought of ceasing to exist is all that comforts me. I only see eternal non-existence as desirable as it's the permanent absence of all harm and suffering, I don't believe there is any purpose to existence, rather that we are just waiting to die. Existence is just an meaningless process of slowly dying where all we are destined for is the absence of everything.

Yeah, i believe in a weird afterlife. But i don't care any more. I'm gonna do what i think is correct, no matter consequences.

Not if you can't be there to care anymore. That's why I'll probably wait for a while until I feel it's my time to ctb. The good consequence is that death in my view is just eternal sleep. Can't wake up from it or know about it so it's probably good.

We won't know until we pass..

Some say its endless nothingness but our final minutes feel like an entire life time as the brain dies.

I doubt there is anything after death but I do sometimes have doubts.

Some people that have "died" for a moment and then brought back right away have said that there was something, but i don't know about that, even if their heart stops for a moment their body hasn't completely died down yet. I hope it's the same nothing as it was before i was born.

Hi...

I was born into a religious family and since i was very little i heard a lot of things related to what happens after a person dies, basically the whole Heaven and Hell story. I heard that if a person takes their own life, they will be condemned to Hell, but there is no way of knowing because no one has ever come back to tell us what happens after death. Some believe in non-existence, others believe that there is a second spiritual life, and others believe that there is reincarnation.

I personally believe that if God really exists and he represents peace and love, i highly doubt he would condemn a person for simply being tired of living, and if he were to condemn humans for their actions then he shouldn't have us given free will to begin with, at least that's what i think.

It is difficult to say what is right and what is wrong as we are always constantly being manipulated by religious institutions that define what is "right" and what is "wrong" just to create a kind of "order". And for someone like me, it's really difficult to not ignore this because i'm afraid that there really is a Hell after death and everything there will be much worse than it is already here on Earth. But i think i will only have a concrete answer on the day i die, and only then will i know if there is anything after death. I personally wouldn't mind if it did as long as it wasn't a bad thing. I wish there was a place to relax and forget about my problems...

Anyway, sorry for the long text and i hope that each one of you who is reading this is able to achieve the peace you desire, and if there is indeed afterlife, i hope that you are able to live a more peaceful life in that spiritual world.

Deaths are unique, they're have different causes, durations, and happen only once to all of us.

If you accomplish genuine death then there's no worldly consequences for you, if you believe in an afterlife that complicates things I'm afraid.

As @mortuarymary eloquently puts it, the living will have to deal with the consequences, people that care about you, people that discover you, etc.

I've wondered before if using a niche method that has grown in popularity has the consequences of making it harder for others to follow suit.

It was probably a lot easier to simply buy inert gas before the popular method gave people reason to be suspicious.

It seems like only a few years ago, SN was genuinely trivial to acquire.

There is no afterlife. Your consciousness will be lost forever once you are gone.
That said, the world will continue existing and running without you in it. Just like how it was before the year you were born.

If you're thinking as in after death, then I would say no. I've convinced myself that you need a functioning brain + heart + whatever organs makes whatever hormones that has with mood and feelings to do in order to feel any mental pain, in witch you won't have when you're dead. I mean, think about it, how are you supposed to have heavy breath without lungs, or palpitations without a heart? And how are you supposed to overthink without a brain? It would in theory be impossible to experience anxiety for instance without functioning organs.

I'm trying to fight my SI, can you tell? ;.;

I might just be lacking imagination here, but I don't think it can get much worse? Even if there are consequences, what are they going to be? Psychological or physical pain? I'm already suffering, and I know I'm not the only one. The only thing that could be worse than life would be more life, but even if that's what's waiting after suicide, it also happens to be what is waiting if I don't, so either way, it doesn't matter much, does it?

It's about as true as any other story that has ever been invented throughout history. Humans have an immense capacity for creativity and imagination. We also have a natural desire/need to make sense of our world and existence, to assign meaning and purpose to it all. All our religions, spiritual concepts, supernatural beliefs, etc are the result of these two human attributes.

Personally, this answer to your question are going to be vague, cause nobody knows what happened to our soul after we died. Some people believe in heaven/hell and if im commiting suicide, my belief said that im going to hell. Other people believe in nothingness which i thing it the OK scenario

And there's a reincarnation where you either go back to the world as someone else or to the multiverse. Im perfer to be nothing cause reincarnation and heaven/hell is a 50/50 change of either ultimate happiness or suffering

I don't believe in afterlife at all

Just think about it. 2 people had sex. Sperm and egg got connected. And then the sperm becomes human. Its nothing that magical to begin with

But if a condom was worn to block the sperm, then the sperm now won't be able to become human

Life is really just that pointless and random at times

Therefore it is hard to connect life with god, heaven, hell, or some afterlife theory

There might be, but there might also be consequences to wearing a green dress instead of a red one or hating mushrooms or swiping mosquitos. If this world actually has some sort of creator or manager I don't see the point in gambling on what their insane mind might happen to prefer. Pascal's Wager, Roko's Basilisk, take your pick of stupid games to play, I choose not to.

Karmic debt is just victim blaming, Hinduism edition.

As someone who grew up in a hyper-religious household, no. I do not think so. The proposition of consequences to suicide is just another way for organized religion to execute power and control over those it oppresses.

I kinda believe that our existence is some kind of test and commiting suicide may come with some huge consequances in the afterlife or whatever next is after death.
The notion that our existence is "some kind of a test" had been utilized oftentimes to force people to persevere through their suffering. Except, it's extremely controlling in the sense that we were brought into this world, with no agreement whatsoever, and forced to join a childish game lest we "incur some sort of wrath" wherein the game had no end goal in sight rather than man-made interpretation of it.

To me, this "test" would always end the same with everyone. Eventual death. So, I don't see any reason if we end the test earlier. If this act is deemed reasonable enough to make people receive "consequences", then it's quite clear we're forced to play along with some kind of vague set of rules enforced by something. We're nothing but a subject of torture, then, as we are simply toys created simply to suffer and act as some kind of an entertainment.

Kind of suck, I guess.
