• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Yes. That's the reason I'm still here. I'm an atheist, former Christian. I wasn't as scared to die when I believed in an afterlife.

Yeah. I guess the negative motivation is stronger. I don't want to stand up people who are counting on me.
Interesting, you can go to work and all, but not the grocery store. Someone needs to study your mind lol.

nothing wrong with having certain fears and concerns though. some people feel anxiety with some things and not others.

Putting forth an argument that an anxiety is irrational, does not remove a person's anxiety. A person can bear an anxiety knowing it is irrational. Please take care to also respect a person's anxieties; and please take care also if critiquing the "rationality" of said anxieties as well.

"Someone needs to study your mind". Well, all human minds should be studied, no? Even if your intentions are pure, it's very easy to interpret "you're case study material" as slightly… disparaging. I don't think every anxiety deserves to be pointed at and said "that is so odd and weird that it should be considered so deviant as to warrant becoming case study material". That seems a little pejorative, if interpreted in a certain way.

I am not saying you intended bad at all: I'm just informing you of the possibly unwanted implication in your words. Take care.

Thanks for standing up for me @webb&flow but it's nbd. Basically I spend all my time that isn't spoken for posting here and trying to psych myself up for hanging.

Just played around with partial some more. Nowhere near unconscious. Neck is sore from my _almost_ full attempt. Family's home. High enough anchor point is outside in the daylight. If I somehow passed out against the door convulsions would probably hit the handle anyway.

I know that committing to full is the only way and it's gonna hurt like shit. I'm just too much of a fucking coward.

I didn't mean it that way. Usually when someone is that agoraphobic, the last thing they can do is work. I'm sorry if i was insensitive @OnMyLast Legs.

Anyways; rational argument where you reason someone out of harmful irrational beliefs—I think this should be seen with extra extra caution if its an anxiety disorder.

If you're refuting a person in throes of depressive thought expressing doubt about something like "does my friend who expresses love and is there for me and good to me and doesn't express being unhappy at me actually care at all", then in that case I think it's totally fine to rationally argue them into a belief that is both truer and makes them feel better. I think that is ethical and good.

I just think that we aren't always aware of the effect of what we say has on people; and we should forgive ourselves for that too. The more we know, the better :).

Anxieties are irrational. May every leeway our anxieties give us, I hope all the peace and ability and functionality and productivity and freedom we experience in that, will continue to blossom into greater benefit and growth in out lives. Best wishes to you :). And to @OnMyLast Legs as well. ❤️ And everyone else reading too!! Best wishes to you, personally, too!! 🤗

I just want to experience peace but the only way to get it is NOT to have lived the way I have for 36 years. To go back and do things right. And that's impossible. So it'll get worse and worse until it just stops. No relief in death, just deleting the future.

Not really. I fear the aftermath of my death. My family will be torn especially my mom and pretty sure it will bum out my coworkers. Oh I guess I won't be able to contribute to the house expenses since I'll be dead too. But hey I haven't even attempted suicide yet and the closest I've gotten to death was almost being hit with saw blade shrapnel which was terrifying.
