I'm just curious. I think it varies for me. Sometimes when I'm depressed I need to eat the whole fridge and pantry to feel better. Other times the emptiness, growling, and feeling of hunger comforts me. It also feels like I can't eat too if I think about eating.

If I'm depressed, I cry a lot all the time, until my eyes feel like they're burning. It's like my throat closes up too, so I don't eat anything until I calm down a bit. I'm not a big eater anyway. Some fruit always saves me when I don't feel like cooking.

It varies. Sometimes I will use food as a way of coping and eat another chocolatey thing in the day to feel better but sometimes it can make me feel like eating is a chore or that I don't deserve things that make me feel better so depression can also lower the amount I eat. These differences in how much I eat cus of depression aren't that big tho.
It's both , sometimes I'll chug more food when I'm feeling like shit as an escapism from the horrors of life and at other times I can't be bothered to eat anything.
