looks are an incredibly large aspect of your life.

Yeah, appearances matter, but that is different to "looks", as in what your born with. It's what you do with what you have that counts. No one expects everyone to be naturally stunning. It takes effort. That can be learnt.

Those that say they don't are lying. Being good looking opens so many more doors, as well as influencing how so many people will treat you - not many kids will get bullied for being good looking that's for sure. An ugly person will have to try so much harder in life in almost every aspect.

You can of course be successful without being good looking, many are, but generally in life everything is made simpler if you're easy on the eye.

Yes they do and I'm a living example of that. Good looks won't give you everything or guarantee happiness but you do have obvious advantages in life if you're beautiful. Sometimes I like to believe they're not as important as society makes us believe and then life hits you in the face and reminds you that It is. I wouldn't have experienced half the shit I did for the past 5 years if I was beautiful and that's the messed up truth.

If you are attractive you are more confident and the aura of success becomes a self fulfilling prophecy

If you could only become pretty by doing good deeds we'd have Utopia by the end of the month

Not necessarily. People who are born with the best looks are just as likely to have shitty abusive upbringings and end up with horrible lives as anyone else.

If it weren't for looks I think I'd still be a virgin, cos my chatting up skills are legendarily awful.

My general observation is that attractive people seem to somehow avoid conflict
Avoid criticism
Avoid poverty
Ever been in a major airport ?
Not many gargoyles

Yes but they are not a guarantee of a successful life, they increase the chances of it, like good mental and physical health, intelligence, etc

Looks definitely matter in many ways of the sense. "Good" looking people don't necessarily have it better or worse then "bad" looking people. You get abused by people in different ways accordingly, but abused or used nonetheless.

I don't care what you look like, as long as you're a sweet person. That's really all that matters to me. Being an attractive person with an asshole personality doesn't make you cute lol

I think looks tend to matter more when you're on either end of the spectrum - really conventionally attractive or super conventionally unattractive. Being at either one of those ends will really influence how people view your attributes. Being hot is a potential social advantage but not a guarantee - there have been plenty of good looking no-gooders in the world.

Kim Jong-Un is definitely one. Voted best looking man in the history of men supposedly, and he could read and write by age 2. Still not close to his father though who hit 12 holes in one playing golf for the first time. Hitler was a looker too, so good looking no man since has had the confidence to copy his moustache.

If you are really ugly in a geeky way people will treat you like shit without any remorse
Especially if you have an unappealing personality and have no talent in anything
Any attempt by you to 'join in ' will be met with barely suppressed violent anger
Either that or they will pity you in a manner that displays the same amount of disrespect

I have witnessed this

As a teenager I was constantly miserable, knowing I would never be one of "the beautiful people". Many years have passed since then and I experienced a life full of unbelieveable experiences.
Now, I honestly don't give a flying fuck what I look like.
