so i recently used the prepaid card method and sent the details to DMC. he the later responded asking what i was using it for. obviously i was going to use it to CTB but i'm not sure if i should mention it or not. and if i don't tell him it's for cbt, do i just say it's for meat curing?

Saying the intent it is for something other than CTB probably provides protection and plausible deniability for all parties involved. Do not say it is for ctb
Never say anything you are buying is for ctb because that incriminates them for selling it to you knowing fully your intentions.

Absolutely say you are experimenting with meat curing in preparation to becoming more self sufficient. I'd say it was in preparation for the future as this also explains why the destination is a private address rather than a business one.
